One of the packages didn't explode and was recovered by the authorities.

School shooting at Maryland high school leaves 3 injured



The shooting happened at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland, left 3 injured including the shooter, who studies at the same school.

The shooting began just after classes started and the shooter was stopped by the school resource officer after exchanging gunfire.

Students across all the U.S. walked out the school rooms to protest against gun violence and current gun laws.

The National School Walkout began at 10 a.m. EDT (1400 GMT) with 17-minute walkouts planned at 10 a.m. in each time zone, commemorating the 17 students and staff killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

49 killed in plane crash in Nepal



Flight BS 211, from US-Bangla Airlines flying from Bangladesh, crashed after landing in the wrong direction at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan Airport.

71 people were on board of the flight including crew, the 22 survivors are being treated in the hospital.

There were on board 33 Nepali passengers, 32 from Bangladesh, one from China and one from the Maldives.

It is not yet clear why the plane went in the wrong direction.

5 passengers killed in a helicopter accident in NY City



The helicopter carrying 5 passengers and the pilot crashed around 7 pm over the East River.

3 of the passengers died after taken to the hospital and 2 of them were declared dead at the scene, the pilot managed to escape alive.

The consulate agency located in this city will be closed until further notice.

Joshua Tree couple arrested after children found living in a shack



Mona Kirk (51) and Daniel Panico (73) have been charged with willful cruelty to a child after authorities found their three children living in a filthy shack without running water, electricity and inadequate access to food.

The siblings, ages 11, 13 and 14 apparently lived there for about 4 years, among trash and holes in the ground used as toilets.
