Being #1 in “Children’s Robot Fiction Books” reminds of the time we voted for superlatives at the end of sixth grade, and my homeroom teacher Mrs. Bishop gave me “Most Conscientious,” a category she made up because I didn’t get votes from my classmates in any of the real ones. But I took it then and I’ll take it now!

Thanks to everyone who had written in. Stickers have arrived and will be mailed on Monday!

“Yay!” Griffin made me a congratulations card for the book release after his remote learning for the day.

Thank you to everyone who has bought the books so far! Yesterday was an amazing day, and it was incredible to hear from so many. If I haven’t responded to your email or message yet, I will very soon. The stickers arrive here in a few days and I will ship them to everyone ASAP. Thanks again!

Hi everyone! You may have seen a new episode pop up in your feed today! We're celebrating the release of the first two Finn Caspian books out into the world with a reading of the first chapter. From there we'll get back into the swing of things. This has been a crazy year, but I'm feeling good and I'm really excited for you all to check out these books! They're brand new stories, not recycled from the podcast, and I'm really proud of them. If you buy a copy and send me an email, I'll send your kids some stickers and other fun stuff. Thanks!

Hi! We're back with a unique episode today. We wanted to do something for all of the families at home with their kids right now. So for this week's episode, Griffin and I wrote the first half or so, and we're asking our listeners to finish the episode for us! That can mean many things, depending on the age and willingness of your kids. You could encourage your kid to write more of the story, or just draw a picture of what happens, or record a conversation about what should happen. We'll collect everything and make a new episode with a bunch of endings submitted by our listeners. It's a standalone episode, and doesn't require any prior knowledge of the podcast.

At the end of this episode, I discuss a few questions kids could ask to help them continue working on the story, and I also put together a short writing prompts sheet you can find at the link. I hope this is helpful for parents looking for a fun and different way of engaging with their kids' learning during this weird time. Also, if you know other families who might like to do this, please do share.

And if you like this idea, please let me know, and I'm happy to keep making episodes like this as we navigate this time, and keep our families safe. http://www.finncaspian.com/finn-caspian-writing-prompts-robo-solo/

Hi! On this week’s episode, we need your help finishing the story! Here are a few questions to think about when writing the ending. You can send your endings, in whatever shape they take, to earth[at]finncaspian.com. I can’t wait to see them!

Hi! There is a technical problem with our podcast feed that is above my pay grade. The season finale is stuck in limbo, and I’m hoping it will be out soon. It’s not my fault! I swear!

Had a really great time at the 90-Second Newbery show yesterday in Chicago. I’m proud of my pal James Kennedy for building something that celebrates kid creativity and a love of reading. (You may remember our bonus ep with James.) I’m curious, did anyone make a movie with their kids this year?

Spent some time out in the trying to start, then push, then jump our car. Got some nice frozen breath crystals on my glasses. I know it’s not throwing boiling water in the air, but it’s sort of science? Maybe?
