David Scott (aka The Kiffness) makes jazzy, groovy & uplifting house music and is one of South Africa’s favourite live electronic acts. Since the beginning of 2013 David has had great success on local radio stations

with 6 songs already playlisted nationwide & all songs reaching top 10 status in the top 40 charts. Following the success on radio, Dave's 1st album through major label Sony (KIFF) debuted at #3 on the iTunes pop charts and was nominated for two SAMAs in the best producer & best pop album categories. Dave founded the project in early 2010 when he arrived in Cape Town to pursue a career in music. During his studies at Rhodes University Dave played a handful of instruments in multiple bands while also holding a DJ residency at a couple nightclubs. Upon arriving in Cape Town he was well seasoned in both the live & electronic music realms and ready to use his experience in both forms of music to form a live electronic project - The Kiffness. From it’s relatively humble beginnings, Dave managed to make his way from bedroom producer to building his own high end studio & crafting a handful of singles that have had great success on radio charts across South Africa. Featuring on some of those singles are some of South Africa’s leading artists including Shortstraw, Samuel Miller, Mathew Gold. Following The Kiffness' success on radio he has had the opportunity of playing headlining slots at some of South Africa's most reputable festivals such as OppiKoppi, Rocking the Daisies, Splashy Fen & Park Acoustics to name a few, whilst playing a handful of shows abroad. Dave has worked with a number of talented musicians in the past for his live show. He currently works with Raiven Hansmann & Clem Carr who specialise in saxophone and keyboard. The Kiffness' unique ability to effortlessly blend live instrumentation with electronic house beats brings electronic shows to a new level. From jamming out deep, hard hitting bass lines live on analogue synthesizers to playing soaring jazzy trumpet and saxophone melody lines, the instrumental talent is tangible. Crowds who come to see The Kiffness live show can expect nothing short of a huge vibe.

A bright light has gone out, but Cala’s sweet little voice will go meow for eternity! 🌟😿

Cala's human, Elizabeth, adopted Cala thinking she was very young. I too believed she was just a kitten. But after Cala became sick, her age became apparent with the problems the vets discovered, and after doing some tests they suspected she was around 12. Although they were optimistic & Cala fought hard her condition was not improving & she ultimately passed away in Elizabeth's arms due to old age.

Please join me in thanking Elizabeth for adopting Cala - for taking her off the streets, giving her a home & for sharing Cala's unique antics with the world. She brightened all of our lives, and she will continue to do so even though she is no longer with us.

Elizabeth had this to say “You all have allowed Cala to live on forever. To never be forgotten for how special she is. Thank you for loving Cala as much as I have!” RIP CALA (2012ish - 2024)
