Today we pay tribute and honour to Jacqueline Ngesi. Mother to Siv Ngesi. The woman who single handedly raised Siv, and always brought food to the table. The woman who took Siv to all his auditions and kept this one message reinforced: “…ONE DAY…ONE DAY MY SON. YOU ARE GOING TO GET IT.” Siv always believed anything was possible because of his mothers love and belief. Afribeing was lucky enough to spend spend time shooting Siv and his mom. And we were deeply touched by the genuine sense of love and pride resonating from this shoot. It was so evident how much love was in the room 👸🏾 our greatest gift is being a parent, and Jacqueline is a fine example of being a Great Parent. Rest in Peace AfriQueen. You will always be remembered. It was an honour meeting you and sharing these moments with you.

Boschendal farm and Norval Foundation recently announced the establishment of a formal partnership that will introduce guests visiting the much-loved historic Winelands farm, to some of South Africa, and the continent's, top artists.
The partnership will see the establishment of a series of satellite art exhibitions hosted at Boschendal’s historic Manor House and surrounding grounds. We are speechless to be included as #50 on the list and be named Best Restaurant in Africa.

"All our heroes - local and international chefs and restaurants that we admire and have been looking up to - are featured here, so it seems quite surreal and undeserved that we should be ranked amongst them. But we are honoured to be selected, and proud to represent South Africa, and Paternoster in particular, on the global stage.

Given the extremely challenging past year-and-a-half we've faced globally, especially in the hospitality industry, recognition of this kind comes as a welcome morale boost, as well as an incentive to keep doing what we do in our own small way - moreover since our slightly unconventional, West Coast approach to food and service does not necessarily fit the average idea of what constitutes "fine dining".

I am immensely proud of the passionate Wolfgat team: Rochelle Karolus, She-Earl Pietersen, Emily Williams, Emmerson Bester and Alicia Bester - who, with no formal hospitality training, are recognised for their hard work amongst the best in the industry, internationally.
