The continuation of the SEE-JUDGE-ACT series is finally here!

Pope Francis said in his encyclical: “Let us turn in prayer to Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother of our faith: Mother, help our faith!" He turns to the Blessed Mother Mary as the icon of Faith for giving birth to the harbinger of light — Jesus Christ.

"𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗘𝗡 𝗙𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗜: 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗬 "

Freedom entails responsibility. This is void in the way the people are going with the “I don’t owe anyone anything” mindset that has been gradually rising within our society in recent years. A portion of the population are adapting to this mantra with the idea of “self-care”, thus, populating the individualistic ideology. Which, quite frankly, is a quite self-centered mindset to have. You don’t always have to submit to everybody’s whims, however, it doesn’t mean you have to only care and think about yourself. Being free means you have to be accountable for your actions and how it will affect those around you, even ignorance requires accountability.

God specifically stated that we must love our neighbors and care for his creations. So, as people of God, we are obliged to care for each other and act according to God’s principles and teachings. In doing so, we can build a better and just world.

In fact, Faith plays a vital role in pushing for the progress of collective humanity, not just Catholics. In this manner, it can be seen that Faith pushes for intersubjectivity.

“Faith is truly a good for everyone; it is a common good. Its light does not simply brighten the Interior of the Church, nor does it serve solely to build an eternal city in the hereafter; it helps us build our societies in such a way that they can journey towards a future of hope.” (Lumen Fidei, 51)

In this progressive age, so many ideologies and trends have appeared which has caused a change in the people — specifically, the youth’s — mental and spiritual state. A lot of our generation today are feeling lost and hopeless due to the lack of faith in their lives. The pandemic and the chaos it brought to the world caused an undeniable shift in our daily lives. In the midst of darkness and isolation, an irrevocable change had been manifested in today’s society. Due to the health restrictions and protocols, we haven’t been allowed to go into church and attend the holy mass weekly. Moreover, the over exposure to the internet and social media has affected the youth’s perception and habits. Its effects are evident in the youth’s current mental and spiritual state.

“Yet in the absence of light everything becomes confused; it is impossible to tell good from evil, or the road to our destination from other roads which take us in endless circles, going nowhere. (Lumen Fidei, 3)”

Which is why one must help the self first so that they can help others effectively. Faith illuminates the entire being of a person, who in turn, shines their light unto the world.

"Faith transforms the whole person precisely to the extent that he or she becomes open to love." (Lumen Fidei, 26)

Lumen Fidei calls us to the light. The light of Faith illuminates everything around it.

In the presence of light, our vision becomes clearer and we’re able to view it in a better perspective. In spite of the darkness that clouds the world, we can continue to shine through the love that God has for us.

𝐒𝐄𝐄: 𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐈

The papal encyclical written by Pope Francis discusses the festering social issues within our society in this modern age. The two major topics that are highlighted in this encyclical are Justice and Faith.

Nowadays, people are more inclined reject religion without even allowing their selves to experience the light and healing that faith brings to an individual.

We recently had the opportunity to have a conversation with Grade 11 Senior High School students from The Canossa School Inc. about their views on faith in today's youth. 🌟 In a time of individualism and secularism, let's all look forward to the student's insight into the state of faith among today's youth! 💭✨

🌱 Let's keep having thoughtful discussions and inspire young people to consider their beliefs while respecting their individual journeys. By working together, we can create a setting that honors Youth Faith and acknowledges the significance of spirituality in the modern world.

One of the contemporary concerns that ails the Catholic Community is the receding faith of the younger generation. The youth are withdrawing from the church and its effects are evident; with the declining mental health of the youth, many teenagers feel lost and alone in their internal struggles.

Pope Francis says, at a conference in Assisi, Italy: many young people are suffering from the loss of spiritual meaning in their lives. And he gives emphasis on the value of spirituality, especially among the younger generation.

How strong is your faith at this moment? Are you still on your life's journey with God?

In today's world, the value of faith is sometimes overlooked. Pope Francis emphasizes in his encyclical "Lumen Fidei" that religion is a moral standard that governs social behavior rather than merely a set of personal beliefs. Injustice and division in society are caused by a lack of faith. It's time to rekindle our trust in the everyday. It involves letting faith direct our decisions, behaviors, and interactions with others. It goes beyond merely praying and going to Sunday Mass.

We, the Lumos Fidem, ought to inspire the youth to reconnect with their religion and become more involved in the Church. Helping the youth connect with God and persuade them of His importance in our lives is one of our objectives. By putting their faith in God, we seek to give the young people more hope and assist them in overcoming their inner struggles.

As we impart the value of religion and faith in our daily lives and the community. Our faith gives us hope and helps us get through the challenging periods in our lives. Our goal in undertaking this mission is to communicate God's love to all young people and help them come to certain realizations.

Together, let's uphold one another's religious practices and create a society founded on equality, love, and respect for everyone.

Religion provides a positive attitude about things, and it gives people a sense of meaning and purpose in life, which helps improve their social and family relationships. Moreover, it improves a person's sense of self and empowerment, creates a sense of belonging in the world, identifies life lessons from difficult situations, and teaches people compassion, forgiveness, and gratitude.
