This Saturday on Radio 4 Jude Rogers presents an Archive on 4 documentary : Reweaving Threads, 40 Years On. With soundtrack by Jim Jupp of Belbury Poly.
Threads was a 1984 BBC television film showing the grim reality of Nuclear war in the UK.

Writer Jude Rogers revisits Threads, the Cold War nuclear film that haunted a generation.

The new solo album from JB Kyron of Beautify Junkyards is an electronic reverie comprised of drifting melodies, dusty archive sounds and synthesized rhythms. It feels like the soundtrack to a dream, in that nothing stays fixed, melodies develop then collapse, trident rhythms strike up and then unravel into fragments. And like a dream it’s hard to pin it down in time - the overall sound is not quite contemporary, and neither is it a vintage re-enactment.

It's inspired by Christopher Priest’s novel A Dream of Wessex. A late 1970s take on the notion of virtual reality. Where participants escape the harsh reality of their world into a kind of consensus utopian future.

The Scenic Route is the second album for The Pattern Forms (Ed Macfarlane & Edd Gibson of Friendly Fires with Cate Brooks of The Advisory Circle), since their 2016 Ghost Box records release, Peel Away the Ivy. This time they’ve crafted ten beautiful instrumentals that focus in on their love of a particular kind of soulful 1980s library music.

Luminous Foundation’s Haig Fras is a semi-melodic, shimmering drift inspired by the geology and biology of a sub aquatic mountain range of the same name off the Cornish coast. Luminous Foundation is a collaboration between Neil Mortimer of Urthona and Mark Pilkington of Teleplasmiste (and founder of Strange Attractor Press).

PLEASE NOTE: As this is a limited run from a very small press, a few LPs will be so-called transition copies where the dye is not fully mixed. So you may be lucky enough to receive a very rare pale green vinyl LP.
