STOLEN BABY FOUND
______________
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers in Half Way Tree, St. Andrew, today located a child who was stolen months ago, adding that a woman is in police custody in relation to the matter.
Four-month-old Nyyear Frank from Hopewell district in St. Andrew reportedly was stolen from his mother at 5 weeks old on Sunday, 13 October 2019.
The JCF said: "Reports are that, about 5PM on Sunday, October 13, Nyyear’s mother was walking with him along Rousseau Road in St. Andrew when a motor car drove up with three men aboard. One man alighted from the vehicle and forced them into the motorcar. The men subsequently took the child and released the mother from the vehicle.
"Acting on intelligence on Wednesday, January 22, detectives searched a house at a location in Kingston 11 and discovered the child. The child was taken to the police station and identified by the mother. A DNA test will be conducted to confirm the identity of the child. The child appears to be in good health," the JCF added.
It stated that the identity of the woman in custody is being withheld pending further investigation.
