“The only survivor of the NationalPeople’s Gang”
in reference to the drum kit and not the man pictured.
This is the new proud owner of this 1985 kit, which I purchased back in 1987 just before making the first National People’s Gang record for Dr. Dream Records in Orange CA. SOLD!
It’s been a challenge to let them go, but they’ve certainly gone to a loving home.

Long Beach’s own Stephen Hodges interview by Elliott Lefco for an upcoming John Hammond Jr documentary. Hodgie was drumming with Hammond for the 2001 album Wicked Grin, a Tom Waits production of Waits’ songs which featured Stephen, Larry Taylor and Auggie Meyers who had worked with Waits on the Swordfishtrombones and Rain Dogs albums.
