This time of year always makes me a little reflective.

When I started Stratos in 2018, I had no clue it would grow into what it is today. I definitely didn’t picture having such an incredible team beside me or clients who feel like true partners in the work.

But here we are. And I’m so, so thankful. 🥹

Marketing might seem like one more line item in your budget, but to us, it’s a privilege to show up for your business so you can keep showing up for your people. That’s the part we never take for granted.

Whether you’ve been with us for five years or five days, thank you for trusting us.

While we all haven't built a house before, we have watched enough HGTV to know what it could take, right?

That is why we share this analogy with our clients. It cuts through the vocab lesson so they can understand what they need to get started on their website. Here are just a few:

🏠 Hosting = the land (Somewhere to put your house (website) so people can access it.)

🏠 Domain/URL = the street address (AKA a way visitors find your house)

🏠 WordPress/Wix/Squarespace = the foundation/framework (Structure your house will sit on)

Be honest… are we asking for too much?
We asked our Account Managers what they’d put on their must-haves list:
A goal for your marketing (and how it matches your business goals)

✅ Logos (in ALL the formats)

✅ Brand colors (Hex codes preferred)

✅ All of the above in a shareable file (don’t make us organize it for you).

✅ Contact info for the decision makers (let’s get it done)

✅ Awareness that you might have homework (we’ll help you, but we want your input!)

✅ Photos or videos (or the willingness to get the shot.)



And if we really got lucky, we love these things too…
✅ Brand guidelines (the bonus to your logo)

✅ Access to past content (We want to see what worked/what didn’t.)

✅ Access to past images/videos (We’ll repurpose them!)

Ok… While this is our wish list and makes it 100% easier to get started, not all of our clients have everything in order ahead of time.

Our InFocus client each had a favorite style, so we created a logo that balanced both, while honoring their original design.

We refreshed their color palette with a pop of bold color, introduced a unique and easy-to-read font, and added a clever nod to their name: a few “pixels” slightly out of focus.

The result?
✨ A logo that’s meaningful, versatile, and a little playful. A logo they (and their clients) love.

Have I burst your “I-hope-this-post-goes-viral” bubble? If so, I’m only semi-sorry.

Here’s the truth: virality is accompanied by negative repercussions.
📉It can tank your reach.
🙅 The new followers could never purchase from you.
🧌 You could gain trolls that are only there to do what they do best.

So, we really aren’t sure it’s worth it. And TBH it’s not a strategy.
You know what is a strategy? Intentionality.
