You might be wondering how I came up with that name. Back in college, I wanted to have a cool-sounding AOL Instant Messenger screen name because I thought my original one sounded lame compared to my friends. I finally decided to base it on one of my favorite comic book characters, Wolverine, and one of my favorite movie characters, Godzilla. After some failed combination I went with other names th
ese characters have been called. For Wolverine that was Weapon X and for Godzilla it's Gojira, what the character is called in Japanese. Since then I've been using the alias Weapon Gojira X on the various platforms I've got accounts with.

It took me 2 nights to recreate 2 video projects shot for shot in my video editing software. This needed to be done. When doing video editing I normally pull clips of what I want to use like scenes from a movie for example. I didn't do that with these projects.
What I did was put the entire video file into my video editor & cut that down to the parts I wanted to use. The video file was 12.2 GB. Each project has a folder with that video file in it. That's 24.4 GB on my computer & my backup drives reduced to 909 MB.

I'm working on a bad movie night bit that involves editing scenes to another movie’s trailer. I'm so pleased with myself that I was able to edit the movie trailer that's my template down to a minute from 2 minutes b/c it makes this bit much more manageable to do.

I'm finishing up Memorable Moments of Bad Movie Night Year 5 to premiere for my friends next weekend. I should be reviewing it tonight. Instead, I'm working on a new bit I thought of this morning that was hilarious.
Update 1: It was a late night, but I got what I wanted to accomplish for the year 5 video for Memorable Moment of Bad Movie Night. I completed the new bit & took care of adding title cards for each movie along with recording myself saying each movie's name to introduce it.
My goal today is to finish the “winners” part at the end. After that, it’s working on the credits. I already have an idea of how I want to lay them out. What I need to figure out is the music to play during them or if I want to record something funny/witty about each movie.
Update 2: I didn't get to work on the credits today. That'll be my focus tomorrow. I was still productive though by completing my 1st review. There was trimming of fat so the bits flow better. I'm sure I'll find more places where this can be done on the next go-over I do.
Update 3: The credits have been completed so Memorable Moments of Bad Movie Night Year 5 is pretty much done. Now it's just doing a couple more reviews this coming week to make sure everything looks & rending the video.
Update 4: The year 5 video for Memorable Moments of Bad Movie Night has gone gold. Or maybe gold-plated. Some bits could be improved, but for my amateur editing skills, I did my best. After the premiere tonight, it's getting the video ready for upload to YouTube.

Recently I did something out of character for me. Going to the movies by myself. I have always viewed this as a social activity done with family or friends. It did feel a bit weird at first b/c I missed having friends around to riff on some of the trailers.
On the plus side, I was the only one in my row & everyone else in my theatre was spaced out. This helped me not feel like I didn't belong since it looked like everyone else was either a family or a group of friends. This is something I want to do again.
This is a good thing b/c I'm not sure I any of my friends are interested in seeing when that comes out in December. Also, the showing will probably consist of other Godzilla fans so I'll surround by people with a shared interest.
The movie I ended up seeing by myself was to indulge my inner child & enjoyed it. It seemed like it was inspired by with its unique animation style. The story was solid & the cast was great.
It was refreshing seeing a TMNT movie where the turtles were played by actual teenagers. I did initially find some of what they did & say to be cringy. That feeling went away fast b/c it helped remind me of my teenage years so I could relate to the turtles.
There were 2 memorable moments. 1) Jackie Chan's Splinter training the turtles b/c this Splinter learned martial arts from watching instructional videos & martial arts movies. I'm pretty sure one of the movies he watched was a Jackie Chan movie.
2) Splinter's fight sequence. It looked like it was choreographed like a Jackie Chan movie where he's doing martial arts, but also using the environment like desk chairs to help take down his enemies.
I highly recommend seeing this movie if you want to see something with a good story & that is well-cast. Like it's another example of animation as a form of art & not just for kids. This is a movie I plan to add to my collection.
