Although the LODA ArtWalk activities and vendor market have been canceled for this Friday, local downtown businesses and galleries will still be open like usual to kick off the weekend!

The next LODA ArtWalk is on March 14.

PARADE SUNDAY!: That's this Sunday, December 22. We like to think of it as a warm-up for Mardi Gras. This parade, in honor of our bowl game, is always popular. This year the game is the day after Christmas, December 26, between Arkansas State and Bowling Green. Because of that odd timing, the parade couldn't exactly be held on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve. So given the choice of Monday and Sunday, they chose the weekend day. Looks like it's going to be cold, so bundle up. Expect more than 20 floats - about as many as our longest Mardi Gras parade - as well as bands, dance groups, horses, and plenty of throws.

LANE CLOSURE ‼🚧 Beginning today, both westbound lanes of Spring Hill Ave. just east of I-65 will be restricted to the inside turning lane while MAWSS makes improvements to their 30” and 36” water mains. This upgrade will help ensure that water can be rerouted in case of a failure and is expected to take approximately 10 days.

The City of Mobile is now accepting old, unwanted, broken and outdated household electronics at its recycling centers through a partnership with Ransom Ministries. ♻ During regular operating hours, residents can drop off used residential electronics in the blue bins at any of the city’s three single-stream recycling centers.

Some of the items now accepted at the recycling centers include telephones, computers (including components and accessories), game consoles, CD and DVD players, cell phones, surge protectors and other small electronics. Learn more at www.cityofmobile.org/public-works/recycling.
