MY LAST SHOW ON WHYNOW RADIO 😢🚨

It’s been amazing to launch Global Dancefloor on the station and hang with , and the rest of the team in the studios every month.

To mark the occasion I’ve signed them up for guest mixes 📀 and we’re on for 3h ✨

I’m also inviting five of my favourite shows on the station to handpick global music from their own collections and send them my way 📬

And my bag in split in two, music I’ve loved throughout 2021 with artists like , , , Munir, & …on the other side, artists to keep an ear out for over the next 12 months, including , , , and a powerful new discovery from Ouganda.

We’re off to Colombia, Peru, Cuba, Iceland, Russia, my French homeland of Brittany, Japan, South Africa, Indonesia, China, South Korea, India, Lebanon, Egypt, the US and more...

A big moment on the show today being joined by , one of India’s most important electronic music artists, who’s sound has been a huge part of my life for quite some time.

Last time we spoke was in Mumbai three years ago while I was touring and producing an audio documentary on India’s colourful underground scene for .fm

Today we chat about documenting the natural sounds of South India, her forthcoming EP and an album which has been in the works for a very long time… We also discuss the importance of activism in music and what artists must do to be part of the change we need around the world.

She’s also put together a guest mix for us, in her own words: “an invitation to listen”…

And in my bag I have heat from Hong Kong’s , I’m loving .tape new record on so will give that a whirl, who was in the mix for us last month has just released an absolute bomb, from Curaçao in the Caribbean is releasing his debut EP which I teased a few months ago. Some serious wiggly business from Seoul’s DJ Wiggle…and we’re off to Brazil, Japan, Turkey, South Africa, Italy, Australia, Scotland. With more pit stops here and there along the way.

I am so pleased to be sharing all this with you! Words and selections from Sandunes and global dancefloor sounds from me on radio shortly.

If I could go back in time I’d chose a Sunday afternoon in late 90s New York and go to a Body & Soul party. In my mind what Francois K and John Davis created is my kind of place. Community, positivity, equality, proper dancing and above all: SOUL!!

This groovy little number is 22 years old and it’s coming out the bag for the show tomorrow 📻

PS: I’ve tried calling the “B&S hotline” as advertised on the back of the record and sadly the number is discontinued…bring it back!

Top time last Saturday 🙌🏼 One of those gigs when you’re never thinking about what track you’ll play next. It just flows!! 🌊

Big love to the dancers for following the journey, especially the three couples who went into full on salsa dancing battle in the middle of the dancefloor at the end. And of course to the and teams for making it such a memorable one 🧡
