Wildfire is on the western side of the Sierra but the winds are driving the smoke over the crest. It has settled this afternoon around Mammoth Mountain and screens the Minarets beyond.

Carrizo Plain - A Sense of Place tells the story of a uniquely conserved corner of California. Produced for the Wildling Museum, the film has had a truncated film festival run due to the pandemic. Yosemite is just so remarkable for its concentration of easily accessible viewpoints around every corner. A 15 minute walk puts you at the bottom of Vernal Falls. It starts out cold and frosty in February but so worth the hike up from the valley floor.
