Hunting to Save the Rhinos

Human nature is to survive not to consume, but our need for consumption has taken a toll on nature, specifically the white rhino.

A rhino gets poached every ten hours, and 80% of the world’s rhino population is on the continent of Africa. On the black market, a rhino horn has a higher value than gold. This leads to a lucrative black-market trade, where high prices create strong incentives for poachers to risk their lives to hunt rhinos illegally.

But hunting can save rhinos! At Rockwood Conservation in South Africa, they don’t breed to hunt, they hunt to conserve. Each hunt ensures the livelihood of precious wildlife that enables them to provide continued care for a healthy population of White Rhinos.

But more than that, each hunt provides jobs and food for the community. Every hunt you take at Rockwood helps to ensure the lively hood of over 350 white rhinos. With strict legislature, round the clock security, feed, and health care, saving rhinos in South Africa is an expensive feat, but hunting can help!

Now it’s time to hunt for a change, it’s time to show exactly how the sport of hunting can be used for good, and how hunters help save rhinos, enrich communities, and feed children. It’s time to show how big of an impact hunting can make! Join us as we hunt to save the rhinos!

The War Dog’s Story documentary series is being made independently from any major studio or streaming network. While that may provide us the freedom to interview who we want and present their stories as we feel they should, it also means our resources are limited. We are counting on the community of dog lovers and supporters of our military to help us raise the funds needed to complete the filming of the interviews; go into post-production with the funds to cover editing, color grading, voice-over recording, etc.; and hopefully still have funds for advertising and promotion of the documentary series once it’s finished.

Many war stories have been told over the years, but rarely are those stories about man’s best friend, the military working dog. After speaking with many retired dog handlers, it became clear that their stories needed to be told. We need to properly and respectfully enable them to tell their stories, their full stories, The War Dog’s Story. We started production on The War Dog’s Story back in July of 2022 and so far we’ve filmed 39 interviews over 60 hours across five states! We feel very passionate about this project as we know you will. The story of the dogs that gave their lives for our country should be told before they are forgotten.
