A big thanks to all the real photographers - the professional creatives behind the lens. Your shots inspire me to get outside and chase what you've captured, to hike farther than I thought possible, to endlessly explore, to forever wander, and to see life with eyes more open. My photos are an expression of my adventures - a photo journal - taken with a phone. "We are all photographers," I suppose, but today thank a photographer who makes a living doing so, who has put in the constant grind for years, who are the eyes behind the shots that spark the creativity and inner photographer in us all.

The Growth Of SO

Serial Optimist was founded January 1st, 2010, with one goal: to be on the cutting edge of happiness. For five years we did this through interviews with the best comedians, artists, writers and musicians. Our content was focused on all things comedy, art, and pop culture. Always anti-snark, pro smiles.

Over the last few years SO has been lightly tended to, some great interviews and features for sure, but really just this beautiful tree blowing in the wind. During this time I’ve focused on working out how SO can have a stronger impact, and not only provide smiles, but provide a community for the things we care so deeply about: mental health, animals, environment.

I believe this can be accomplished by proving thoughtful and creative content that will engage people on multiple levels. SO will continue to provide the best conversations, with a focus on mental health. We will provide content that is focused on helping us all become better activists, better at bringing mental health talk to the mainstream, better at just trying to be better.

We do this through collaboration with like-minded companies. By working with and supporting non-profit organizations. By being active in our community and hopefully, getting you jazzed to be active in yours.
