It was indeed an honour for me as I attended the program organized by the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu held at Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.

The program was tagged: Gender-Based Violence (GBV) With the First Lady was equally attended by the wife of the deputy governor: Mrs Oluremi Hamzat and other dignitaries.

This program couldn't have come at a better time considering the increasing number of gender based violence mostly against women and children in our society.

The First Lady noted that the state government will implemented various initiatives aimed at stamping out the heinous crime of gender based violence in the state. And I also urge everyone to beware of this crime and report any culprit to the appropriate authorities.

To have a secure and peaceful environment, it is a collective job.

*MC IN THE NEW BUILDING!*
NURTW Boss Is First Visitor To Ultra-modern Isolo Council Chairman's Office As Shammeh Pledges Support For Oluomo's Peace Efforts

The Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (a. k. a MC Oluomo) became the first visitor to the new ultra-modern chairman's office complex of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Friday 13th November 2020.
MC Oluomo was on a state-wide working visit to Isolo LCDA to further spread the peace and unity effort between members of the union and the local government authorities across the state.
He was alongside members of his state executives including his Special Adviser, Hon Bola Ahmed Oseni warmly received by the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Hon Shamsudeen Abiodun Olaleye who ushered them into the new office complex.
In his opening remark, Oluomo said his visit to the council chairman whom he described as a man of honour was sequel to the peace initiative of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to promote cordial relationship among the youths, union members and the local government authorities across the state.
He noted that the visit became inevitable due to the recent wanton destruction of lives and properties by hoodlums who hijacked protest to perpetrate their nefarious activities adding that unity among the youths and other critical stakeholders would have helped to checkmate the recent protest from being hijacked.
Oluomo added that his visit was also designed to allow him gather first-hand information on the state of affairs among members of the union, the youths and and authorities of Isolo LCDA.
Responding, Hon Olaleye praised the NURTW boss and his entourage for the visit and pledged his support to the peace initiative.
Shammeh explained that the visit would not have been necessary if not that it was a state-wide affair because Isolo LCDA is a peaceful council area, a cherry development which he attributed to cordial relation among the youths and the excellent personal relationship he has with the critical stakeholders of the council area.
The council boss added that the cordial relationship among the youths ensured they mobilised and safeguarded the council secretariat and other public infrastructure during the protest.
While acknowledging the frosty relationship between union members and council leadership in some local governments, Shammeh noted he has no issue with the leadership of the union as presently constituted in Isolo LCDA.
"I believe this is purely a union affair. I cannot dictate to the union for as long as they won't dictate to me on how to run the council.
"Here in Isolo, you have no issue to address because we are together and we give you all the support you need. So you can tell Asiwaju that Isolo is peaceful and would remain to be so," Shammeh added.
In appreciation of the visit and as a mark of support, Olaleye directed the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) Hon Emmanuel Olojede to write a letter of recommendation to the APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressing his support to Oluomo's peace initiatives across the state.

While giving them their much needed financial assistance ranging from #500,000 to #250,000, Mc Oluomo thanked them profusely for their services and their elderly roles in directing and coordinating the affairs of their branch. He also used the avenue to tell other members to be law abiding and go about their duties diligently stressing that the time for thuggery and hooliganism amongst the Union members are over.

It is no longer news that the whole world is currently fighting a war that is unlike the conventional war. The most challenging thing about this "health war" is that it can not be seen, has no cure yet and is no respecter of social status, age or gender. The number of confirmed cases sadly keep rising locally and globally.

Sadly, this strange ailment keeps claiming lives of the patients and those treating them. Quite inspiring are some retired medical professionals who came out of retirement to help save lives, the efforts of the health care workers during this period will forever linger in our hearts. NEW MONTH MOTIVATION

Emptiness and Vanity!

At this period of trials Our cars are just parked there, no where to go to. The private jets are lying in waste, air spaces are all shut, every country nursing its citizens and fighting an unseen tiny enemy.

Each man is confined to a room in those big mansions and the designers; clothes, bags, shoes, perfumes and make-up kits have all become useless and serving no purpose.

No more urgent appointments and business meetings that deprive us of time with God and family.

No parties to attend and hangouts to meet up with friends, no more convoys and sirens, even the money stocked away in the accounts and soak aways are useless...

Even our expansive and expensive mosque and church auditoriums are empty, it is now each man with his God in truth and in spirit.

All we need today is food and air to breathe, we just want to be alive. Nothing else is really important.

This world has never been vanity as it is today!

Good news is; we all have one more chance to introspect, to reflect and ask yourself why does God need to keep me alive through this? To party or buy new cars or perhaps finish my doctorate degree or build my mansion?

What is my purpose in life now and after Covid-19?

Why does God need to spare me and allow others die?

Of what value am I to humanity and to God and His kingdom that should make God to spare me?

No one has the right to make you happy or sad. Try not to tie your happiness to anyone; it’s your responsibility.
This month shall favour everyone as we raise our hands up for the blessing of the almighty Allah, I wish you a new month filled with unreserved happiness.

God help us all. Amen.

*COVID-19 STAY AT HOME ORDER: MC OLUOMO DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO THE LESS PRIVILEGED *

There is no denying the fact that this is a tough time, not only for the masses but also to the elite in the society. Both the employers as well as the employees are feeling the negative impact of the dreaded virus popularly called Coronavirus. We can only pray for God's quickest intervention in curbing this epidemic in Lagos and Nigeria in general.

It is in the spirit of solidarity with the stay at home order of the state government that the NURTW chairman, Lagos State Council, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya *Mc Oluomo* shared food items to the masses at various motor parks across the Lagos State.

He noted that majority of Lagosians are aware of the existence of the virus in our society. They are also aware that to stop the spread, there is urgent need for people to stay at home but in a situation where there is nothing to eat at home, one would definitely be forced to go out to look for means of survival.

It is in bid to ensure the effectiveness of the stay at home directive of the state government that the NURTW BOSS shared some food items.
Items shared included rice of different sizes, Noddles, to mention but a few. The beneficiaries of the kindness of the NURTW boss was full of praises and prayers for the philanthropist.

It should be recalled that few days ago when Mc Olumo kicked-off the rehabilitation of Boladade street in Oshodi, he pledges to assist the people to the best of his financial ability. The distribution of these food items is yet another testimony of the magnanimity of the NURTW boss.

He enjoined the people to maintain the highest level of hygiene by constantly washing their hands, use hand sanitizer (if they can afford it), if not, they should wash their hands thoroughly and frequently. He also adviced them to stay indoor pending when this period will be over to prevent the spread of the virus.

*LAGOS STATE NURTW BOSS COMMENCES REHABILITATION OF BOLADALE STREET, IRETIOLUWA STREET AND SUWEBATU STREET, OSHODI LAGOS.*

Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya popularly known as Mc Oluomo has commenced comprehensive rehabilitation of Boladale street, Iretioluwa Street and Suwebatu Street, Oshodi Lagos.

It should be recalled that Boladade street was where he just erect a massive hotel before being elevated to the position of the state chairman of the NURTW.

Mc Oluomo at different fora had promised to impact, not only in the lives of the people, but also in the areas of infrastructure. He had promised to always give back to the society that made him and the rehabilitation of Boladade street and his environ, by the NURTW boss is a testimony to the promises earlier made.

Mc Olumo is always of the view that government alone cannot cater for the massive infrastructural deficit we currently have, hence, private sectors and individuals should also be a part. A drop of water they say, makes an ocean. If individuals in their respective localities could fill in the little infrastructural needs in their areas, Oshodi, Lagos and indeed Nigeria will be a better place to live.

The rehabilitation of the streets however came with mixed reactions from the people. Some were not surprised that the NURTW boss single handedly embarked on such a massive project. They were of the opinion that owning to his antecedent as a leader with the heart of philanthropisim he would always do things to alley the sufferings of the people around him.

Others were however surprised and grateful to him for not neglecting them. They thought since he had been elevated to the state office, he would have forgotten about them.

Mc Olumo promised to do more based on his capacity both to individuals and in terms of infrastructural edifice. He pledges that as long as God continues to bless him, he will continue to share the blessings with the people.

He equally enjoined other well meaning Oshodi inhabitants to also endeavour to contribute their quota towards the infrastructural development of the Oshodi community and and Lagos State-Nigeria as a whole.

If individuals in their respective localities could fill little infrastructural gaps, based on their financial capacities without leaving everything to the government, Oshodi, Lagos and indeed Nigeria will be a better place to live.
