It’s Muharram! The first month of the new Islamic year, 1442.

For my non muslim friends and fam, the Islamic calendar is lunar. Months are calculated by the phases of the moon.

Whenever you see a really, really thin slice of moon in the sky, a new month has just started!

Also Islamically, the new day starts with the sun setting. How cool!

Muharram is one of the 4 holy months of the year where fighting is forbidden 🤍

May Allah increase us in everything good and pleasing to Him. Ameen!

🍉 This fruit represents Palestine’s resistance, on social media and in person. The colors resemble the colors of their flag 🇵🇸 which the oppressors are trying to ban and replace with their own.

While I have a sliced up watermelon in my fridge, Palestinians in Palestine can get can get in trouble for eating this fruit.

May Allah grant them ease, strength and the sweetest victory! Ameen
