Well I have to admit, I've no idea why over the last few weeks there's been a sudden resurgence of interest in Remember The 80s considering I haven't done the show since February of last year! However, welcome to this page's latest members!

The reason I had to quit doing the show was due to lack of time. But with this sudden renewed interest, I'm wondering if maybe it's time to give some thought to a revival? I couldn't do it weekly, but maybe monthly?

How do we feel about that plan?

Still more likes! Thank you, everyone who's liked this page recently, but Remember The 80s no longer exists. I stopped doing the show early in 2014 due to lack of time, but you're still welcome to download old editions via the iTunes podcast store.

Hi everyone! After several months of inactivity, in the last few weeks this group seems to have attracted more members, so welcome!

Just so you know, l stopped doing Remember The 80s in early 2014 but this page still exists. If you would like to hear some of the old shows, they are still available as iTunes podcasts.

Can you believe it was 40 years ago that these songs were in the charts? Back in May 1974 we were singing along to The Bay City Rollers, The Osmonds, Slade and... yes, even The Wombles! In this chart from week ending 11th May 1974, the number one song had just won the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden, vaulting the group whose name was an acronym of its members' names to worldwide stardom!

Hi everyone,

Due to various reasons, it has become necessary to take a break from doing my Remember The 80s show.

Recently, circumstances have forced me to take breaks at random intervals from doing the show, and that situation is not likely to change anytime soon. So with another weekend looming and another show expected, I thought it only fair to let you know that rather than keep letting you down a week at a time, I would prefer to simply discontinue the show for now.

The show takes several hours to prepare every week – far more than the two hours it lasts. Unfortunately, this is time that I cannot devote to what is an unpaid hobby at the moment.

I’m not able to put a timescale on when it will return as that depends on a few things, but I’ll let you all know when I’m able to start it up again, whether as Remember The 80s or in some other format.

The radio stations that carry RT80s are welcome to replay older editions of the show until you manage to fill the slot on your schedules with something else.

I hope to be in touch with you all again soon!
