Well... it's been a while. We're still knocking about and waiting for things to calm down and return to something like normal.

In the meantime, please take the time to fill out this survey from the Music Venue Trust.

A sad day for the parish indeed.

With everything going on at the minute we've taken the decision to close our Softmint Studio practice room. This was also our space for shooting Pedals Are People Too videos.

While bands can't gig or practice, and until we can safely begin filming again, it makes sense for us to do this.

We'll be back stronger though - Sonja Sleator + Ethan Hanna are both working on new music and when the time's right we'll be back with more pedalboards than you can shake a solderless cable at.

As an independent charity, donations and support for funding is vital, and all funds raised in Northern Ireland remain in Northern Ireland. The pandemic has highlighted just how important they are to the local music community with their mission of supporting local musicians through times of opportunity and crisis.

We were delighted to be asked to contribute to the NI Unplugged project, so when it is released this week look out for Sonja Sleator in among all those great artists.

This is a brilliant idea and we really hope people can support it and raise some funds for Help Musicians Northern Ireland.

NI Unplugged is a collaboration of N.Irish bands & solo artists in aid of Help Musicians NI. Created during the UK lockdown, it features acoustic tracks by musicians across multiple genres.

Our pals at XS Noize have started doing video interviews, one of the first is with none other than Alan McGee. He's a legend in music who's worked with Oasis, Primal Scream and tonnes of other great bands.

ALAN McGEE is the outspoken, maverick genius behind the mighty Creation Records and has worked with some of the most significant bands of the last 30 years including Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, the Jesus and Mary Chain and The Libertines to name but a few.

It's hugely important that at the end of all of this we have venues where we can go to enjoy live music. The Music Venue Trust is fundraising to support them and we'd encourage you to help if you can.

Our grassroots music venues are special to all of us. They are the place where artists begin, the place where audiences fall in love with music, the place where our communities come together. We can't afford to lose them.

We've had quite a few new followers over the last week or so, likely due to people spending more time at home online and such.
It's great to have more people aware of what we're up to, so please spread the word if possible.

It probably goes without saying that our rehearsal space is currently closed. It's the right decision to close our doors for the time being.
We had some great plans for shows this year with our pals at XS Noize, they're on hold too.

We've got lots of stuff online though - our series of Youtube videos, Pedals Are People Too is binge-worthy content if ever I saw it.

Plus, Sonja Sleator and Ethan Hanna have lots of music and videos online for you to enjoy. Sonja has some vlogs too, ranging from a look behind the scenes during recording to a procession of very loud ducks. Something for everyone and you can find it all at the link below.

We're honoured to have been included in the very first Zool Records Magazine.
Along with interviews with Pascalwillnotsurvivethis, Careerist and introductions to the Zool team you can read about how Pedals Are People Too got started, why it started and what we hope to achieve with it.
