In 2012, the English adaptation of Rebecca the Musical went down in flames in a story wilder than any Hitchcock film.

Eleven years later, one theater in London is trying to pick up the pieces to give the English adaptation a second life.

So, I’ve had this film bag since senior year of high school when my grandma gave it to me as graduation present. It’s been through a lot, many videos with friends, the start of the channel, and to where we are now. There’s lots of miles on it and lots of memories.

Definitely the end of an era, but a symbolic one as Wait in the Wings enters the next era.

Soon after opening on Broadway, the rope used to pull the elephant onstage for the Hannibal scene in Phantom of the Opera was replaced with much studier parachute cord that was able to withstand 8 shows a week without fraying. This is the only existing rope made with the original material and now you can get your hands on it! Your piece might even include some of the gray surface of the (faux) elephant!

It's the final week of the WitW Kickstarter, so don't miss out on owning these stage used props before they're gone!

A couple people were askin so here are the authenticity photos!

There are two certificates of authenticity for the Phantom prop from the scene shop that worked on the original phantom chandelier and elephant rope. The stage piece from BJ was from someone associated with the DC run who wishes to remain anonymous. The shelves were acquired at load out for Beetlejuice and the Marquis but are actually from the Winter Garden run. Here’s a photo of them from that run.

It’s built and ran by people who love hip hop, have lived it, and want to preserve it.

Little did I know it when I got them, but these two plays went on to signify two pivotal phases of my life.

One showed me the magic of what making theater could be, the other was a good riddance to a toxic form of theater that never should be.

Guess where I got them?

I really wanted the new doc on The Drama Bookshop to be a love letter to everyone who walked through it’s doors. I hope you enjoy it!
