2024 Fabricator of the Year, recap and results!
While we were busy preparing for the Fabricator Olympics this year, a catastrophic hurricane hit the North American coast. That Saturday morning, we were frustrated by the inconvenience of the unexpected winds blowing things over in the night and the rain (that was supposed to be a “fifteen minute slight-drizzle” but instead lingered all night and most of the day).
It seemed to make everything wet & soggy, even under tents - and delayed our start-times and planned set-ups. Some spectator games (most of our favorites) couldn't be played due to the rain & power issues from things getting wet for so long.
Sunday morning, those things seemed trivial after we learned about the tragedy unfolding and the Americans who lost everything they had. It put things into perspective for us quickly of how thankful we were and how fortunate we are to be where we are - and to be hosting an event like this with people like you.
Kevin & our oldest son were headed to Tennessee the next weekend anyway to weld, but changed gears quickly and spent the week reaching out to everyone he could to coordinate and gather supplies to take along for hurricane & flood victims in North Carolina & Tennessee. Initially hoping to just fill the back of our work truck, we were instead blessed to fill the bed and our largest enclosed trailer to the brim with donations - and still so many left that our church then filled an entire tractor trailer and another race car trailer that was offered.
It was an incredible reminder of what Americans can do when they work together. As I’m sharing this post, another catastrophic hurricane is hitting the coast of Florida. We’re praying for the Americans bracing themselves to lose it all - and for the Blue Collar Men and Women who are going to recover and rebuild it all over again. We’re proud to represent the Skilled Trades Community & continue to bring positive light to the people who build America.
