In the midst of diverse opinions on the matter of
“ should a gospel artists perform at Cimfest ? “

The only persons point that caught my attention is that of Ace producer Tembi Cornel .

In his video he said a few things and I’ll highlight the words that caught my attention

He mentioned :

It is a music festival where artists go to showcase their talent

Artist go to hunt for sponsors and funders

Artist aren’t there to perform but gyrate the crowd

They’re there to showcase excellence

They aren’t there to minister but to perform ..

It’s all about the art ..

It’s business .. he spoke as a music exec ..

See if we all look at it from this angle , there will be no need for the brouhaha ..

Is there anything wrong with being a performer and putting on a show ? I don’t think so ..

Want to be a festival artist ? By all means pls be ..

From a branding perspective, you tell people how to classify you by the perception you give out ..

Everyone’s calling is different and everyone will not be who and what you expect them to be ..

If you go to an event to put up a show , it’s amazing .

But but y’all should dead the “ evangelism, light of the darkness talk “ dead it .

There’s light in every degreee which is expected to light up darkness in varying degrees .

The same light ( wax number ) needed to power a stadium is not thesame used in powering your room ..

Lit a candle in a hall , what will be the effect ? How many candles will you need to lit one big hall ? You will need So many for it to have an impact ..

You want to do evangelism at Cimfest ?
You should’ve come with a team to share tracks . Wear a tshirt that says Jesus is King
Sing evangelical songs . Songs that speak to the hearts of men and women . Songs that talk about repentance etc ..

But can you do that in such an event ? Nope . Why ? Cuz you are conditioned to excite the people . Make them dance , make them gyrate and sometimes you are tempted to water down your lyrics ..

But do I blame you ? Nope . It’s a damn show .

Some artists go to events to have a good time and have good pictures .. to each his or her own ..

So let’s be clear ..

There’s a difference between a Christian artists , gospel artists , gospel minister ..

How some event organizers budget for their music concerts :

Sound : 3 Million ✅

Lights : 2 million ✅

Video coverage : 1 million ✅

Pictures coverage : 500.000 ✅

Decor : 300.000 ✅

Branding ( backdrops , floor drops etc ) : 200.000 ✅
Communication ; graphic design and spot: 500.000 ✅
secular bloggers : 200.000

Gospel bloggers 🤭😂 : just small thing to manage ✅

Music ministers for the concert ( those who appear on the flyer , whose brands sold the event , who posted the event and the ones who are supposed to make the event happen with their performances / ministrations, who may have travelled to a different town , paused their activities , rehearsed, prayed , paid for band etc ) :

The fee: Pleasee just come , I don’t pay artists to come and minister to people . It’s a missionary work , it is for the advancement of the gospel , infact are you a minister or a business man , is it God who called you ? Why should you be charging ? And the accusations continue 🤣🤣

I blame but the ministers that let these accusations get to them 🤣🤣🤣 .. pls oh I have used but carnal eyes to analyze these things .. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

If all the artists refuse to come, what will they do with the stage and lights ? Aren’t you more valuable than the aesthetics? What’s more important in an event ? The stage or the artist ..

As Gods music minister, do you even know your value like that ?

Don’t let people who will rather invest on the aesthetics of an event than the actual vessel bringing the presence of God that will bless lives in that event bully you .

I don’t like to talk, but I miss this page .. one one time, we need to reset some things ..

Shout out to Worship Exodus for bringing together Min Neeja and Festizie and a host of many other amazing artists for a powerful moment of worship .

The event which was hosted for 2 days at the Molyko stadium had over 500 + ppl in attendance.

The atmosphere was filled with joy , praise , worship , dance , poetry . It was an array of arts and a powerful moment to give God glory .

Shout out to the Organizers for putting together such a beautiful program . Testimonies have abound , lives have been transformed . The name of Jesus has once again been lifted .

Why do we find the need to write a song that we don’t think will bless someone else ?
Is it insecurity , lack of trust ? Or complete denial or fear of acceptance .

Recently, I watched a video whereby , the lady called Eva praise manager said her latest song titled “ big something “ was made popular from Cameroon. That his friends called him from Cameroon saying that the song was being played every where.

From the streets to the market , churches, crusades etc ..

Do you imagine if that was your song being played like that? Are You not going to be happy that your song has gone viral ?

As much we want to hide our fears with spirituality , every artists dream is that their works go viral . That many people get to listen to their song and be blessed by it. And there’s nothing wrong with such aspirations.

So why then do we not engage in the publicity of our songs so our dream can come to pass?

In Cameroon, offline promo is the best so far .. when you listen to the choir sing a song and you like it, Shazam has made it easy for people to get the songs immediately into their phones or they can go find it on YouTube ..

Imagine you’re invited to an event with 100 or more ppl in attendance. These 100 ppl hear the song , they go n download it and most of them will share it with their siblings at home or friends. That’s a lot of promo .

But next question is: can we minister the songs we write? How many of us have good song writing skills ? I have so many questions to ask but there’s nothing wrong in choosing to minister your songs in an attempt to promote it.
For your writing is an expression of your quiet times with the Holy Spirit .. I don’t see why the Holy Spirit wouldn’t lead you to minister it .

Let us quit complaining that Cameroonian gospel songs don’t go viral mean while we do not put in even the minimal work .

We’re not even asking other people to sing your songs , we’re asking you to sing your songs . Sing the songs that you write .

Show up for your work and show it to the world . It is your work , except you’re saying God is wrong for giving you the assignment or the sound .
