A little gnome goes a long way. To paraphrase the poets: Gather ye scraps where ye may. It's the best time to pick up all the little yarn pieces from the projects you've made this year and turn them into something whimsical and fun—a relaxing knit that will also brighten your home. Check out the blog post in the link in my profile all about making this gnome garland. You can whip one up pretty quickly and while it's great for this time of year, I don't believe anyone will judge you if you leave these guys hanging all year round. The world could do with a little extra magic.

As we knit for the Hat Not Hate KAL, some may want to follow the prayer shawl model where you pray or knit intentions into your work for the recipient. But you don’t know if the child who receives your hat is the bully or the target.
It doesn’t matter.
It can be hard to internalize, but child bullies are victims as well. Most of them are acting out because they are struggling with pain themselves. They need to be heard and loved as much as their victims if we are going to put an end to their harmful behavior.
