BILLINGHAM RUGBY U14

Junior Rugby is a real team game where new players are quickly incorporated according to their abilities and where fun is more important than winning, only just! ;)
Our coaches aim to give all our young players a love of our fantastic game and to nurture the skills needed to get the most out of training and playing.

We welcome all boys from Year 9, whether you've played the game before or want to try rugby for the first time. Please come along at 10:30 am for a Sunday morning training session and we also train on a Thusday evening every week from 5:30 pm to 6:30pm.
We play matches on Sunday mornings, home and away, against other clubs from across the region.
Gum shields must be worn during training and matches and we recommend players wear layers to keep warm, particularly during the winter months.

For more information contact U14s coach Nick Piercy - [email protected] or our team Manager Amanda Waldock - [email protected]

BILLINGHAM UNDER 11s

WE ARE NOT THE BIGGEST GROUP OF KIDS IN BILLINGHAM RUGBY CLUB,
BUT WHAT WE LACK IN NUMBERS WE CERTAINLY MAKE UP FOR IN TEAM SPIRIT.

The summer has been an exciting time as we have welcomed a couple of new members to our team and are hoping over the current season to add signi cantly to our group.

The summer has also seen the group start to do some fundraising for what will be their rst rugby tour hopefully in early 2018.

They have back packed alongside parents running the Great North Run to help raise funds.

Fundraising will be an ongoing affair to try and achieve our target.

If you have any friends or family who would like to give rugby a try in fun exciting environment please ask them to contact me, Chris Hyndman, on 07772 922852.

Dangerous new game that has hit social media.

Please read information below about a very worrying trend happening now on social media, that has encouraged young people to participate in risk-taking activities.

Blue Whale:
The Blue Whale game is a dangerous game that is popular at the moment in Russia and spreading across Eastern Europe. The game is played online and spreads through social media.
Players are appointed a "master/teacher" and these "masters/teachers" challenge the players in stages, to tattoo a Blue Whale somewhere on the body, usually the arm or the leg. As the game goes on the players are encouraged to self-harm and the final challenge is to commit su***de.
All these actions have to be filmed and shared via social media to the so called "master/teacher". The game is being played by children of all ages, some as young as primary age, but predominantly by teenagers.
This obviously sets a worrying trend and it is believed that it has started to spread in the UK.

DATING APP:
‘Tinder for teens’ app Yellow could be used to groom children, NSPCC warns
Children's charity says app is 'blatantly aimed at flirting and relationships' and claims it puts kids at risk

THE NSPCC has warned that a dating app dubbed “Tinder for teens” could be abused to groom children. There is evidence that Yellow, which is available on Apple and Android smartphones, is growing in popularity among school-age teens who use it to chat and send pictures to friends and strangers.

13 Reasons Why:
Stylized onscreen as Th1rteen R3asons Why, is an American drama-mystery web television series based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and adapted by Brian Yorkey for Netflix.[2

The worrying the content of these games, sites and films are and the dangers they pose in glamorising such dangerous practices.

Should I discover any further worrying trends or dangerous apps/websites, please share them with us and help us get the message out there.
