The Kalaidzhi bride market takes place in the southeast of Bulgaria every year. Unmarried women are often paired off with financially strong men.

But more and more young Roma are rebelling against the old tradition. For young Kalaidzhi the annual bride market at Bachkovo Monastery is the only chance to find a partner. Their Orthodox Christian faith and traditional code of conduct prohibit them from dating, flirting or having any other pre-marital relations. The Kalaidzhi - a name meaning tinsmiths or boilermakers - marry only within the group. Finding a spouse from outside - and in particular a non-Roma Bulgarian - is out of the question. Love is only a secondary consideration. What matters is the dowry. A growing number of young Roma, however, are rebelling against the traditional marriage market. They want to make their own decisions, and to love and marry the person of their choice. For girls especially - some as young as 15 when they are put up for marriage - the wedding is the end of self-determined life. They will subsequently be housewives and mothers. The film accompanies 17-year-old Teni and 19-year-old Maria in the week before the market day. For them it means buying a lot of new clothes and masses of other preparations. Can this be a way to find true love? And how is the outdated ritual affected by the Internet and social media?

In 1980 an ancient tomb was unearthed on a building site in the Jerusalem suburb of Talpiot by archaeologists Amos Kloner and Shimon Gibson. Inside were a number of bone boxes (or ossuaries) dating from the 1st century. The inscriptions on the sides of these boxes were an archaeological bombshell; they included the names Jesus son of Joseph, Mary, another Mary in the rare form Mariamne, a Jose, a Matthew and a Judah son of Jesus, all names potentially associated with the New Testament family of Jesus of Nazareth.

For over twenty years the ossuaries languished in the stores of the Israeli Antiquity Authority. Then in the early years of the 21st century bible historian James Tabor began to question if the tomb at Talpiot was indeed the final resting place of Jesus Christ.

A series of scientific tests and a close analysis of ancient texts seemed to suggest this could indeed be the tomb of Jesus, especially if the ossuary inscribed Mariamne could be positively identified with Mary Magdalene. If this identification was confirmed it would not only suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene could have been married, it would also suggest that the Judah son of Jesus ossuary belonged to Jesus' son! Working on the assumption that the Maraiamne ossuary found at Talpiot was indeed the final resting place of Mary Magdalene, statisticians concluded it was 99% certain that this was the tomb of Jesus Christ.

This finding strikes at the heart of traditional Christianity which is based on the belief that Jesus was physically resurrected from an empty tomb near the Holy Sepulchre Church, the traditional site of crucifixion. Yet James Tabor argues that it would have been easy for the disciples to simply remove Jesus' body from the tomb at Golgotha and place him in a tomb at Talpiot.

However, once Tabor's theory was made public there was uproar. Immediately a new interpretation of the Mariamne inscription gave no suggestion that this bone box had belonged to Mary Magdalene. The original excavators weighed in with their own doubts. Particularly they asked why, if this was Jesus' tomb, were there no signs of crucifixion amongst the bones found in the tomb? On top of that, DNA tests designed to show that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married proved worthless.

Statisticians took another look at the numbers; now there was a 10 to 20 % chance that this could be the family tomb of Jesus: a figure that is considered statistically insignificant. And archaeologist Shimon Gibson has another theory; he believes the family tomb of Jesus actually lies beneath the Holy Sepulchre church, in what is traditionally considered the family tomb of Joseph of Arimethea, just a stone's throw from the traditional site of Golgotha.

But where does that leave the story of the resurrection itself? To answer that question bible scholar Bart Ehrman comes up with a radical new approach to the tale of the empty tomb. He sees it as part of an oral tradition invented after Jesus' death to justify the belief already taking hold amongst early Christians that Jesus had undergone a physical resurrection when actually the chances are that his body was left on the cross to rot like a common criminal.

The Lost Tomb of Jesus is a documentary which makes a case that the 2,000-year-old "Tomb of the Ten Ossuaries" belonged to the family of Jesus of Nazareth. It is a documentary co-produced and first broadcast on the Discovery Channel and Vision TV in Canada on March 4, 2007, covering the discovery of the Talpiot Tomb. It was directed by Canadian documentary and film maker Simcha Jacobovici and produced by Felix Golubev and Ric Esther Bienstock, while James Cameron served as executive producer. (Jacobovici and Cameron had previously created The Exodus Decoded.) The film was released in conjunction with a book about the same subject, The Jesus Family Tomb, issued in late February 2007 and co-authored by Jacobovici and Charles R. Pellegrino. The documentary and book's claims are the subject of controversy within the archaeological and theological fields, as well as among linguistic and biblical scholars.

Yukina is from a small town in the north of Japan. She has made the decision to leave school at 15 and move to the ancient city of Kyoto to follow one of Japan's most traditional professions. Stunningly filmed and with exclusive access, Yukina's journey gives a unique insight into the sacrifice and dedication needed to enter the closed but privileged world of the Geisha.

After Japan's economic collapse in the 1990s the world of the geisha was badly affected. The rich clients diminished and with it a profession that dated back hundreds of years. Today there are fewer than 1,000 geisha in the whole of Japan.

From the bustling streets of Kyoto we go inside the Okiya, or the geisha house, where Yukina will now live in for the next five years with the Okasan or geisha mother. Discipline is paramount. Under house rules Yukina is banned from returning home for 18 months and is not allowed to phone home. After only a few days she's finding it hard to cope with the loneliness and isolation. "I miss my friends. They are all at home together and I wonder what is going on. Here I have no one to talk to."

In stark contrast to the formality of the geisha house in Kyoto we meet her family back home in rural Yamangata, Northern Japan (her warm, fun-loving mother, who is concerned and worried for Yukina says, "I couldn't believe her decision to train to be a geisha. It is so unusual we were staggered. I miss her so much") and her school friends who tell stories about the Yukina they knew, the teenage girl who'd said she wanted to become a cartoonist.

Yukina explains that she thought she'd like to become a geisha because of her love of Japanese dance. But at just 15 years old she's afraid of talking to men and is unsure of how she'd handle any unwanted advances. "I hope it doesn't happen as I'm only a teenager but if it did I'd try my hardest to politely refuse." We join her at her first official party, where she has to entertain drunken clients nearly three times her age. Through the first six months of her training she sheds her jeans and teenage identity, taking a new geisha name and wearing traditional clothes and make-up.

Six months after Yukina left home we join her mother as she arrives in Kyoto to attend Yukina's Misedashi, the official ceremony where she is accepted into the community as a trainee geisha. It's the first time she's seen her since she left and is shocked at how grown-up she's become. Formally dressed up, she is one of the newest members of the geisha community and is paraded through the streets of Kyoto.

For the ethnic Turkmen of northeastern Iran, a wedding is the event of a lifetime: A flamboyant affair complete with centuries-old customs that bring to life the rich traditions of these once nomadic tribes.

Anyone who has ever attended a traditional Turkmen wedding will never forget the experience. But it’s rare for outsiders to be invited to the celebrations, and get a glimpse of their fascinating customs and traditions. This report accompanies a young couple on their big day. In fact, the celebrations for Mahym Mirzaali and Karim Gorganlidavaji extend over several days and play host to thousands of guests. The Gorganlidavaji family spared no expense and effort in staging the marriage of their only son. But the ceremonies, wrestling matches, costumes, jewelry and music are not just a private pleasure, they are also a way of preserving their age-old nomadic heritage in multi-ethnic Iran. Even if the Turkmens have adopted a more settled lifestyle since the beginning of the 20th Century, they are determined to preserve their cultural identity. From the 10th Century on, Turkmen tribes spread across Central Asia. Today they are at home in the countries located between the Caspian Sea in the west, and the foothills of the Himalayas in the east. About half the Turkmen population of twelve million lives in the young republic of Turkmenistan, another two million are settled in Iran. They share a common history, language and traditions that unite them across many borders.
