Very well

This indeed is a most trying season for especially the riverine Ijaw people living in the interior parts where the attention of the government is yet to have a strong presence.

06/10/2022

The current political season is an opportunity for the Ijaw people to strike a deal with one of the three majority tribal nations. The three major tribes, this time around, have their respective candidates in the coming political contest: BAT for Yoruba, AA for Hausa-Fulani and PO for the Igbo nation. The Ijaw people have a choice to make. The choice is to take a collective decision based on the following:

Who is our neighbour?
Who is our friend?
Who is our brother?
Who is our ally?
Who can be trusted?

Define each tribe based on the character and antecedents of the respective candidate.

INC PRESIDENCY...

THANK YOU, BARR. FRED NDOROKEME OWOTORUFA FOR FINDING ME WORTHY TO FUNCTION AS MEDIA AND PUBLICITY COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN OF YOUR CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION.

He assumed his ancestral title with ethnocentric pride when he stood up to give his welcome speech.

APALAKIYA is an ancient appellation passed to him as inheritance.

I listened to him with rapt attention like a dog listening to its crack of bones.

I saw him coiling into his shell while allowing the looming image of his experience to speak with eloquence.

I stood up spontaneously and applauded him with that Apalakiya title when his promise to pursue an agenda to redefine our cultural essences tickled me into great excitement.

I know it will interest Ernest Brisibe, Ben Binebai, Ebiegberi Alagoa, Ebi Yeibo, Felix Tuodolo, Seriake Dickson, Sunday Abraye, Youpele Banigo, and others to hear that Fred Owotorufa promises to:

collaborate with relevant stakeholders and partners to institute the teaching of Ijaw Language in our academic and leadership institutions from primary school up to tertiary level.

He says, "this initiative will also see to the setting up and strengthening of Faculties of Ijaw Studies (Ijaw History, Culture, Language, Arts, etc) in our Universities and Leadership Academies".

I believe him without reservation because I am equipped with the reverberating testimony Honour and Integrity circulate freely in his favour.

Together, let us work towards a greater, united Ijaw nation.

Fred Ndorokeme Owotorufa is the man.

Happy birthday, G.O.C

Tompolo is a human but he is elevated to godhood in my mind.

I always see him as one sprung from the gods.

His benefactions to the people of the Niger Delta are enough for him to receive the fair honour as the SUPREME SPIRITUAL AND POLITICAL LEADER OF THE IJAW NATION..

Tompolo is larger than a single clan. He deserves the dignity of a joint honour of all of us of Niger Delta.

Our prayers are good but
our pure heart towards him is more desirable.

Happy birthday to the Boukonowei.

May you live long.

A Priest-King can only be dethroned by death. Such is the way for all original Ijaw kings.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. No statement I know now is truer than it. However, a greater number of the heads are too tender to bear the associated troubles. One head that sets itself forward as a proverbial example in the direction of the statement is that of Dr. Felix Tuodolo.

His love and passion for Ijaw nation is the crown.

On the shoulders of that man is not a human head. His head has long become a preferred public dump where every born of the village goes with excitement to dispose wastes.

The town fowl has just been decorated with a new but unsightly crown. The crown indicates that he is the architect of Eric Omare's recent legal victory as the "legal and authentic" President of IYC.

This is as pedestrian as the previous one which was purposed to portray him as the villain whose machinations laid Eric Omare's mandate on the gallows.

No fact, no evidence was supplied by the author to adorn the breathless crown. The author's submissions are flat, frivolous, watery and full of unfiltered assumptions. Why won't they allow the town fowl to have some respite?

The man is truly a man of destiny, he is truly the Izon buloutubou ( first son of Izon). No wonder, he attracts the dumb, the blind, the deaf and those sick in the head.

The ashes from the hearth, when thrown up, descend back to settle on the head of the same person who throws them. Tuodolo has moved on.

He moves on surely because the kite never dies the death of curses.

THE AGITATION CONTINUES

What is the use of being in the status of an oil bearing community when in reality you are not considered as one? It is simply a false and deceptive identity.

In a few years time Ojobo may cease to bear that unprofitable identity as an oil producing destination. The oil wells are already drying up one after another. This reminds that the tragic fate of Oloibiri is here.

Given the Oloibiri experience where SHELL operated for 30years, pulled out after its wells became extinct, and left behind no social amenities but heavily polluted land and creeks, we have no reason to be in a hurry to release our grip on the jugular. Let the protest continue.

SHELL started full operation in Ojobo (Benisede Flowstation ) since 1971. They were permitted to commence work by an agreement entered into with the community in 1966. The first root of our woes is that agreement which negates every sense of fairness, justice and equity. As a people living in a dynamic society, we have a right to call for the words of that agreement to be reordered to mutually benefit both of the parties.

It is curious that SHELL would abandon a field after concluding all the preliminaries for activities to start off. That is the Osuopele Oil Field. The Osuopele Oil Field in Ojobo town was discovered in 1977. This is a field which has 8 untapped wells and wihich carries a huge prospect of fertility. Instead of allowing it to lie fallow with the attendant ecological damages impacting negatively on the people, divestment ought to be a potent option. If the eyes of SHELL are not focused on either starting operations or selling off the facility, we may be forgiven to believe that horizontal drilling is already in operation.

Is Delta State government capable of executing any settlement? I don't think so. A responsible government must fight for its economic advancement. Our Delta State government has never shown any sign of anger that the allocation accruing from oil in Benisede flow station is going to Bayelsa State. That is a matter that requires the state to rise in support of the protest by Ojobo community.

Anyhow, the struggle goes on.

This is an unfair thing about political contest: victory is claimed by all, failure to one alone.

Before twilight of the same day, some who stood with HSD in the morning are already the dancers with the most trained steps in the boat of David Lyon.

This is politics that never attracts my admiration. It is more in the blood of the Ijaw man.

It is not just a small thing which lies now on the head of Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.

I stand with him no matter how he has been presented at the moment by his self-assured hubris.

The presidential order for forensic audit of the account of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has a side that triggers my suspicion. To me, it appears like a smart trick to blunt the minds of those who are interested in combing the roots to know the truth about the recent rumour of renewal of oil bloc licences and the uncomfortably strange discovery of crude oil in the Northeastern part of the country.

One factor that discredits the entire essence of the order and destroys every quality of beauty inherent in it is the fact that the decision is a product of the stimulation of the governors of the region. The governors of the Niger Delta do not have the right conscience and a morally justified reason to set the presidency against NDDC or any federal agency within the area due to mismanagement of corporate funds.

The governors would have been most fit for such calls for probe or audit if they had shown an impeccable account of how judiciously they put the 13% derivation funds into use. It is a better and more urgent task for PMB to probe the Niger Delta states of the 13% funds, which have been accruing to the states without any evidence of commensurate developmental impact, than shining light on more tolerable criminals. However, there are so many hands that are sure to burn when the federal government commences with the fire of the forensic audit because they are countless whose fingers are soiled with the oil of the loots.

I fell in love with Pius Esinebe when I read about him. He has the capacity to give Ijaw nation the needed leadership. Why not?

Our leadership fails because of problems of accountability, transparency and proper management of corporate funds. Anyone who decently respects the principles of accountability should be held up as a great leader.

Dr. Pius Esinebe fits in properly in that category. A man who left behind millions to his predecessors on two occasions is a leader in all respects. As Patani Local Government Area chairman, he bequeathed millions. He replicated this feat when he completed his tenure as a two times chairman of the Delta state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He is a man of character and dynamism.

He is my choice.

Vote for Engr. Pius Esinebe as he presents himself for the position of Ijaw National Congress (INC) president.
