This is a sad day for fans of music legend Elvis Presley and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley and a singer-songwriter dedicated to her father's legacy, died Thursday after being rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles following a cardiac arrest.
Her death comes just months after her son, Benjamin Keough, died by su***de at age 27. In her final Instagram post before her death, Lisa Marie wrote about grief and posted an essay for People magazine in honor of National Grief Awareness Day.
In her essay, Lisa Marie wrote that grief is an uncomfortable subject, but "has to get talked about." She shared the essay on Instagram, writing: "Hi. In honor of it being National Grief Awareness Day, I wrote an essay about grief… I thought I'd post it here in the hopes that anyone who needs to hear all of this it helps in some way."
