Six Point Press You don't have to be a zombie to work with Six Point Press... Six Point Press is a co-operative press for independent writers.

We include a stable of editors and artist that are reasonably priced and often willing to barter. We lean heavy to the military and NDN side of things, so expect a mix of perspectives and attitudes. And, like the eagle, we have a left wing AND a right wing - we use them both to fly!

Worth watching.

E.B. White once wrote of commas in The New Yorker: "They fall with the precision of knives outlining a body."

We would like to wish Don Ciers well in his decision to cancel our contract and to self publish his series.

It’s Been a Good Run | Jaym Gates

This is a big piece of what we're trying to reinvent. All the voices shuttered and muttered need to be brought out and given wings. How each of us flies is, of course, a matter for our strength...and the strength and direction of the prevailing winds. Those we cannot escape, and so we must do what we can to both navigate them and change them.

It’s Been a Good Run Posted on March 10, 2016 by Jaym Gates · Leave a comment About six years ago, I quit my dayjob and went full-time freelance, working for SFWA, Paizo’s Pathfinder Tales, Prime Books, and others. Since then, I’ve handled an amazing variety of clients, from simple advice for self-p…

6.p is a collective press. a co-operative press, and an indie press. We work with people at the level they want and or need. We make back our financial investment and then everything goes to the writer. We are not in this for a profit and you can ask for a sit down go over the math at any point.

We have artists, editors, and format help.

The thought being that it costs around $1000 minimum to put out a professional looking product and most of us need a bit of help here and there.

That said, we are not pay to play. If we press something and it doesn't make a profit within the time frame (5 years) we return the rights and the writer gets to keep the cover art / edit / formatting....

Most everything we do is barter and/or non-contract cash.

We frequently work with someone until they are ready to put together a query packet for a larger press.

So, all that being stated up front... One of the reasons I started 6.p was because small press isbn block's get a higher profile on Amazon than singles. I bought a block.

We are asa market aiming for: vets, lbgt, poc, and devout/religious with four separate fields of interest. Erotica, SF/Thriller military, Academia (nf), and information driven nf.

That moment when you realize that a plot thread is a complete distraction from the story and now you have to unwrite it through a 70,000 word manuscript...

That very annoying moment.
