Summerville, SC Parks & Recreation

I'd like to take a moment to pass along a tremendous 'thank you' to our entire parks maintenance staff. As of 3:20PM, all Town of Summerville parks are now open!

We still have a tremendous amount of cleanup to do, but staff feels confident in allowing reentry to all of our parks at this time.

A few things to note:
- The large dog run at Wassamassaw Park is closed until damaged fencing can be repaired.
- The net climber at Newington Plantation Playground is unusable until it can be further evaluated and repaired.
- The restrooms are closed and park/tennis court lights are inoperable at Doty Park until power is restored to the area.
- The Oakbrook Nature Trail is clear of large debris but still littered with small twigs and leaves. The boardwalk behind Carolina Eye Care is closed until it can be repaired.
- There are still downed trees and/or limbs in many of our parks, but all walkways have been cleared. Please use caution if you venture off the pathways.

If you see anything you think we may have missed, please let us know! Thank you for your continued patience as we work over the coming weeks to finalize our cleanup efforts.

Also, both the 2019 Summerville Farmers Market and the Rollins Edwards Community Center will be open tomorrow. Enjoy your weekend!
