Rwanda Film Festival Founded in 2004, Rwanda Film Festival is an annual event that takes place every July in Kigali and other parts of Rwanda.

In what has quickly become a tradition, the annual Rwanda Film Festival takes place in the month of July. Filmgoers, filmmakers, and film students will all share the excitement, as outstanding Rwandan films and independent films from all over the world are screened in casual, cinematic settings. This year’s festival marks a new era for filmmaking in Rwanda. Now celebrating its 11th year, the RFF w

ill announce break through programs, films and partnerships, which will help elevate Rwanda as a destination and source for filmmaking, tourism and new businesses associated with the industry. With a distinct new voice, attention is being paid to filmmaking in Rwanda, and Africa. Indeed, there will be a greater presence of notable members from the African film and entertainment industry. The program starts off with Hillywood screenings, which showcases movies by gifted Rwandan filmmakers in an effort to strengthen and promote our country's growing film industry. Great African films are added for the Kigali screenings. The 7-day run festival is proudly presented to our community by the Rwanda Cinema Centre in collaboration with Kwetu Film Institute, the Ministry of Sports and Culture, is projected to draw hundreds of visitors and artists from around the world. Along with our partners, we promote, and help coordinate, visits by independent film enthusiasts, film industry and business leaders who come to see the wonders of Rwanda.
