Hi, my name is Robert, and I love watching popular Korean dramas and eating out Korean food. About two years ago, I was introduced to Korean culture and food. One thing that is evident in every Korean drama has food which, by the way, I wondered what it was. this is how I started this website: www.foodinkoreandrama.com
I always dreamt eating that food. I mean; actors and actresses eat delicious f
ood, and so the food served in Korean dramas must be delicious. In fact, when I watch or talk about Korean dramas, I find myself craving for food. I love Korean food, seriously. I might cook by myself or dine out in Korean restaurants. Some of my favorite Korean dishes include Galbi(Korean marinated beef grill or Korean BBQ) and Kimchi(a traditional fermented Korean dish) and so many. Currently, Korean drama and Kpop is booming in the whole world. I especially love watching them. They are funny, engaging and informative. As I later came to know, Korean drama has lots of eating scene because Korean culture highly values food. Sharing food means more than just eating food together; Koreans like to share their life by sharing their own dishes. In fact, if you want to befriend a Korean, you need to sit down in front of anything to eat. So when a Korean asks you to eat or drink anything just say “yes” if you want to be friends with him. My love for Korean food saw me win a third prize—iPad 2—from www.CjFoods.com photo contest. That really changed me. I became a true lover of Korean food and Korean drama. In my winning photo, in fact, am eating Bibimbap, Japchae, and Bulgogi with Kimchi. My relationship with Korean cuisine is not light, it’s deep. It’s from the heart. It’s natural. Out of willingness to express myself as I learn the Korean culture, I came up with this website as a diary to find out more about Korean food seen in Korean dramas. I will cover Korean food recipes, Korean culture, Korean language and a bit of gossips about Korean actresses or actors but not in bad ways, just the light moments.
