Vinyl Voyages is Hong Kong & Edinburgh's vinyl-only radio show, bringing you the best of music from around the globe!

Jazz, latin, afrobeat, highlife, funk, soul and beyond! Josh & Laura met on the dance-floors of East London through a shared love of music. Vinyl Voyages began its journey broadcasting eclectic weekly shows from Hong Kong's Radio Lantau. After eight years of life in Asia they now call Edinburgh home. They continue to share their love of music and travel through twice monthly broadcasts from Edinburgh's EHFM.

We are launching our new vinyl-only label based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our name and logo hint at our Hong Kong past whilst also nodding to our broad musical tastes and inclusive perspectives.

Umbrella Vinyl cares about the planet and we are committed to minimising our environmental impact.

A portion of our sales proceeds will be donated to music charities supporting migrants in our local communities.

This week on EHFM we’re honoured to include a 1 hour guest mix from our friend Parker Mah AKA the Montreal based DJ Rhythm & Hues.

DJ Rhythm & Hues has been sharing his offbeat selections for over a decade, setting dancefloors alight in places as far-flung as Mexico City, Cotonou and Hong Kong. Co-founder of the Tumbao DJ collective, his specialty spans the afro-latin-brazilian-caribbean spectrum, with a predilection for vinyl.

"Dedication to a Tan Nation" is the latest mix from Montreal-based DJ Rhythm & Hues. The mix takes its title from the opening track, a spoken-word jazz poem authored by Montreal poet Kaie Kellough, from the album Creole Continuum. With that as its central theme, the mix meanders through the continuum with various stopping points such as doo-wop juju, classical-influenced salsa, experimental afro-latin funk, and other mixed-blood selections from Rhythm & Hues' eclectic collection.

It’s our birthday!!!

Our first radio show was broadcast 5 years ago today from Hong Kong on Radio Lantau!

It’s been an adventure since the beginning. We’ve met, bought music from, and danced with some incredible people along the way. Music definitely brings people together!

We’re now very fortunate to be part of the EHFM family in Edinburgh.
