As some listeners may have guessed, the MP3 Removal Squad is going on indefinite hiatus. I'm looking for some new projects and challenges to do at WRUW, so I'll be sure to update here with anything new. Thanks to those brave souls who got up early to listen!

Musicology by Prince will be on in the 2nd half of the show, but we're starting off with Earthling by Bowie, which tries to be crazy current for 1997 and its kind of amazing.

Since I've been focusing on 1985 this year, I only have a few takeaways from the music of 2015
1. Courtney Barnett is shockingly good
2. Beirut's "No No No" shows that "Rip Tide" wasn't a fluke, just play a piano or electric organ, clap some hands with a tambourine and I'll probably love every album they put out.
3. Beach House wins the Guided by Voices award for 2 albums in a year. (bonus: both are pretty good, I prefer "Depression Cherry" of the two)
4. The Decemberists put out an album I don't have to apologize for enjoying.
5. Wilco wins best SEO for releasing "Star Wars"
6. American Wrestlers is my favorite randomly discovered artist
7. State of Gold was not the album I want Matt Pond to go out on
