Two weeks ago, the 113-year-old Sentul Depot opened to the public for the very first time since 1905, during RIUH X GRAB : Malaysia Day Weekend.

Sentul Depot used to be a centre for railway maintenance for the Federated Malay States Railways, and it was one of the biggest and finest integrated engineering workshops in the world.

Even though the depot has been left abandoned for many years, its historical value makes it an important monument to KL's developing industrial landscape.

Sentul Depot is still the largest train depot in Malaysia today, and with the support of YTL Land, it was transformed into a meaningful space for the celebration of art, music, and culture for two days.

What's next for the depot? We are still unsure but we hope it will become a significant community hub!

Rinjin Shokodu (隣人の食堂) is a casual eatery with a Japanese concept, serving a variety of delicious yet heartwarming Japanese-style dishes.

Rinjin literally translates to “neighbour", evoking the importance of having good relationships with others, treating them as how you would treat your neighbour.

Previously occupying a space at Commune at Sunway Velocity, it has now moved to a quiet suburb in Bukit Jalil in the form of a compact and cosy shop.

They currently have a special menu in collaboration with Omeor Grill 炭烤坊, for a limited time only. The highlights are Chargrilled Cumin Lamb Set and Chargrilled Soy Garlic Chicken Set; both sets come with rice, potato salad, salmon side dish, and miso soup.

This menu is only available during Friday to Sunday until 30th September, from 12pm to 9:30pm. Come by for a hearty meal before it ends!

Joining the list of minimalist Japanese style cafes in the Klang Valley is SEIRO. Its location might be a bit of a surprise, as one might never expect to find such an aesthetically built cafe in Sungai Buloh.

Embodying a simple concept with a well curated menu, they specialise in Japanese Bao using organic wholewheat dough. They also serve noodles, Donburi (Japanese rice bowl), and a selection of coffee and tea.

The cafe is Halal, and they have vegetarian options too!

Imagine life in 2080. What will humankind look like as society becomes more digitised?

2080 - A Day in Kuala Lumpur, is an experimental project that imagines a day in the capital city of Malaysia in 2080, 100 years after the Internet was introduced.

The 30-minute performance invites the audience to be part of the act as they are allowed to walk freely around the installations, with surprise bursts of projections, sounds, lights, and narration in between.

The future of Kuala Lumpur is explored through the lens of consumerism, mortality, relationships, and home - while much is left to the audience’s imagination.

This project marks the first collaboration between six young artists, designers, and theatre practitioners, who seek to develop alternative methods of storytelling, one that is using technical mediums instead of performers.

It is something special to have tea outside while enjoying the scenery.

Although the way of tea, 茶道 (Sado), is usually performed with a strict manner in Japan, Nodate is a relatively more casual.
