Dear Wirksworth, Two Headed Films needs your help!
We are looking to borrow some Mid-Century style furniture, for our talk show on Sept 15th, Eames style perhaps or more like the attached photo. We are ideally looking for 2 x one seaters and 1 x three seater. If anyone out there has anything that might be suitable and are willing to loan it for a few hours on that Sunday then we will be immensely grateful, send a photo in a message. We will of course take every measure to look after it and you'd be helping add a little magic to our show!

Here is the first of our guest previews for the upcoming event, Sunday Morning Deep Dive: Compassion Special - 11am - Sept 15th - at Wirksworth Town Hall.

We look forward to hosting Brendan Woodhouse!

Brendan is a Derby firefighter, a volunteer refugee rescue activist for Sea-Watch, and a lovely guy! He also co-wrote 'Doro: Refugee, hero, champion, survivor" with Doro Ģoumãňęh, a refugee from Gambia.

Doro's journey led him through Senegal, Libya, and Algeria, where he endured many hardships. In 2019 Doro was rescued by Sea-Watch 3 in the Mediterranean, where he met Brendan, and they formed a deep bond. Their story highlights the brutality faced by refugees, but also the bravery and compassion that humans are capable of.

Brendan's perspective challenges the demonization of refugees, which is sadly still so prevalent in our society, and his practical compassionate outlook and understanding of world affairs are essential to hear.

To hear Brendan and our other guests speak, reserve your tickets via the link below:

Hi all,
We are delighted to confirm that we can donate £1700 to Two Headed Films from this year’s beer festival! 😀
Thank you all for coming and making the day really special!

We wish you a merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy new year!
See you in October!! 😀

Here is a note from John on what the donation will help with:

The money will go towards the production of a short film and corresponding education program, to be shot in 2024. The Unwanted, is a sociological thriller set in the local area which deals with themes of abandonment. It is the most ambitious project so far by the new company that shall further develop its aims of creating innovative media whilst engaging with those with low access to the creative arts.

I'm not sure if the two headed beast is more happy from how well the Creepy Ceilidh went, or sad that its all over. The alien child is even hard to read.

Thanks so much to everyone who came, it was such a joyful evening, and the atmosphere was electric!

Credits to Dougie Macinnes for calling the dances with awesome style, the Whatapalaver band, T'Owd Man Border Morris, set builder extraordinaire Dom Foulds, and his dad Ian Foulds for projection magic, Jack of J R Electricals, James and the Little Canyon Collective, the craft circle: Abi, Amanda and Laura, extra helpers: Paul, Anna, Geoff and little Beinn, Andrew and Marjolein of Wirksworth Beer Festival for providing the booze, Go Wild in Wirksworth and Stay Derbyshire for donating raffle prizes, and many others for their support.

The funds raised will be so crucial in growing our new company, watch this space...
