Frassati Fellowship organizuje vyjazd do oblasti najviac postihnutych hurikanom Sandy: Breezy Point, The Rockaways a Staten Island s cielom pomoct tamojsim ludom posunut sa opat o krocik vpred k normalu. Ide o pomoc s upratovanim, demolaciou, rozdavanim potravin a podobne... Na cely den kym zapadne slnko...

Dear Frassati Friends,
Thank you all for your generosity in bringing supplies to Catholic Underground and to the Dinner and Holy Hour this past weekend! We filled two 15 passenger vans and four additional vehicles, and sent them to Far Rockaway and Staten Island on Sunday. Volunteers stayed on to help with clean up and to deliver hot coffee to beleaguered residents. We heard a lot of heartbreaking and also heartwarming stories from the people. The residents of both locations were very grateful for all of your help!
Update: On 11/10, we sent a team of 32 volunteers to Breezy Point, Queens. Volunteers helped with demo work and also brought around lunches and hot drinks and snacks to the neighborhood.
We plan to send volunteer teams out again on Saturday, November 17th and Saturday, November 24th! To join us, please register using the links above. We will contact you with more information. (Please plan to volunteer for the full day).
We will also continue to collect financial contributions through the above link. All monies will be used directly to help Hurricane victims and are fully tax deductible (we are a 501(c)3 organization). To donate supplies, please contact us for current drop off times and locations. (Please note that needs have changed! We are no longer able to collect indoor clothes for example).
**In addition to the supplies listed below, we are also seeking to borrow or buy some large capacity coffee makers and some insulated beverage dispensers (to keep the coffee warm all day). If you can help with these or other needs, please send us an email at [email protected]!

Non perishable food, preferably ready to eat e.g. granola bars, energy bars
Paper plates, cups (esp. **hot cups with lids), cutlery, aluminum trays
Plastic storage bins with lids
**Contractor bags or extra heavy duty trash bags
**Gloves (latex gloves, and work gloves)
Chlorox and other cleaning supplies, especially mildew remover
**Thin respirator masks or dust masks [N95 are best]
**Mops, rakes, brooms, shovels
**Flashlights and batteries; extra batteries especially D
Paper towels and toilet paper; feminine products
Chlorox wipes
Underwear (new only, in packages)
Socks, (new only)
Baby items especially diapers, wipes and baby food & formula, Children's Motrin
Advil, Ben Gay, Bandaids, Ace Bandages (any other medical supplies)
