Hello all!
LoDubs is back at it once again. As is the labels' nature, once the hype slows down we'll be there to keep the underground alive with new releases!
We are getting close to what will be about a year shy of the 20th anniversary of LoDubs, the premier USA Grime/Dubstep/Garage label founded in 2005. It's crazy to think. The label that brought Clubroot, DZ, Egoless, Mensah, and countless others out on vinyl for their first releases, but still lurking in the shadows nearly 2 decades later.
Between now and October we will have three new 12" EP's. Each will be available digital, but will also come as a limited 12" pressing. This 12" pressing will come with a special download code that will allow vinyl owners access to a version of the EP containing 2 bonus tracks!
..On top of that, these bonus tracks will come with instructions on how to get a limited to 30-50 poly cut of those tracks! In some cases this poly will come with additional surprises, like a VIP only available in that form.
To start things off, we have an EP of Deep UKG from Silent Cubes. Stream link is below the label art/release details to follow:
ARTIST: Silent Cubes
TITLE: Sound In Motion EP
RELEASE: Immediate (Fulfilling orders beginning of August 2024)
CAT # LODUBS-1224029
FORMAT: Limited 4 Track 12" EP W/Digital bonus+Poly Dub cut or 4 track digital DL/Stream
Notes:
A veteran producer (Who prefers to separate this incarnation
from past works) working within many disciplines in sound, Silent
Cubes demonstrates a particular skill in atmospherics and mood
in their productions, creating three tracks of original UGK driven
sound that speak in a dialect as familiar to the progeny and
brethren of Clubroot, Sorrow, and Congi as that of Chez Damier,
Mr Fingers, and Ron Trent. An exercise in deepness, Draped in
the framework and immediacy of Garage.
Showing how evocatively these elements can be transformed is
MOY, himself straddling a line between classic IDM, Old Skool,
and Acid, and with releases on Analogical Force, Vinyl Fanatiks
(AmenTec) and a slew of others. MOY comes forward with a
hybridized remix of “The Stream”, which really is in a class of its
own and closes out side B.
“Sound And Motion”. Presented as a 4 track vinyl EP, in a
numbered/limited edition, and bundled with access to 2 exclusive
Poly Cut/Digital tracks, only ever available via the access
provided through ownership of this record.
