THE LAST HOPE:
Cosby and Tracy never met, but they felt a strong connection. They were both avid readers and writers, and they found each other online through a literary forum. They exchanged messages, comments, and emails, sharing their thoughts, opinions, and feelings. They had so much in common, despite their different backgrounds and cultures. Cosby lived in Malawi, a poor and struggling country in Africa. He had a difficult life, moving from one relative's house to another, facing abuse, neglect, and poverty. He suffered from social anxiety disorder, which made it hard for him to interact with others and make friends. He found solace in books and writing, which were his only escape from his harsh reality. Tracy lived in the United States, a wealthy and powerful country in North America. She had a privileged life, born into a rich and influential family. She attended the best schools, had the best opportunities, and enjoyed the best comforts. She was smart, beautiful, and popular, but she felt bored and empty. She craved for something more, something real and meaningful. She found inspiration in books and writing, which were her only passion and challenge.
They never saw each other's faces, but they imagined how they looked like. They never heard each other's voices, but they recognized how they sounded like. They never touched each other's skin, but they felt how they warmed like. They never kissed each other's lips, but they tasted how they sweetened like. They never told each other "I love you", but they knew how they meant like. They were in love, but they never met.
Cosby and Tracy wanted to meet, but they couldn't. They lived in different continents, separated by thousands of miles and oceans. They faced different obstacles, hindered by money and circumstances. They had different responsibilities, bound by family and duty. They had different fears, haunted by doubt and insecurity. They waited for the right time, but it never came.
Cosby and Tracy drifted apart, but they never forgot. They stopped messaging, commenting, and emailing, but they kept reading, writing, and thinking. They moved on with their lives, but they held on to their memories. They met other people, but they compared them to their ideals. They settled for less, but they wished for more.
Cosby met Tania, a girl from his neighborhood. She was kind, simple, and loyal. She liked him for who he was, and she supported him in what he did. She helped him cope with his anxiety, and she encouraged him to pursue his dreams. She made him happy, and he made her happy. They got married, and they had a child. They lived a modest but contented life. Cosby loved Tania, but he never stopped loving Tracy.
Tracy met Brad, a boy from her school. He was handsome, rich, and successful. He admired her for who she was, and he spoiled her in what she wanted. He gave her excitement, and she gave him admiration. They got married, and they had a child. They lived a lavish but superficial life. Tracy liked Brad, but she never loved him like she loved Cosby.
Cosby and Tracy never met, but they started to dream. They dreamed of each other, every night, every time. They dreamed of what could have been, what should have been, what would have been. They dreamed of meeting, talking, hugging, kissing, loving. They dreamed of being together, forever, always. They dreamed of a different reality, a better reality, a perfect reality.
But dreams are not real, and reality is not perfect. Cosby and Tracy woke up, every morning, every time. They woke up to their lives, their spouses, their children, their roles. They woke up to their regrets, their sorrows, their longings, their hopes. They woke up to their questions, their doubts, their fears, their choices.
Cosby and Tracy never met, but they had a choice. They could choose to ignore their dreams, and accept their lives. They could choose to forget their love, and embrace their partners. They could choose to be happy, and be grateful. Or they could choose to follow their dreams, and change their lives. They could choose to find their love, and leave their partners. They could choose to be brave, and be free.
What will they choose? Will they ever meet? Will they ever be together? Will they ever be happy?
