Are you angry about the way our Prophet SAAS was recently depicted?

1) Let us react as the sahabah RA did. They saw the Prophet SAAS mistreated countless times and they did not resort to violence. Instead, they were patient and were willing to teach the ignorant ones around them.

2) If you truly love the Prophet SAAS and want to show it then follow in his footsteps. Embrace the sunnah in big and small things and learn about the Prophet SAAS.

The Verse of the Footstool [2:255]

"Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal.

No slumber can seize Him nor sleep.

His are all things In the heavens and on earth.

Who is there that can intercede In His presence except as He permits?

He knows what appears before (His creation) or after or behind them.

Nor shall they encompass aught of his knowledge Except as He wills.

His footstool does extend over the heavens and on earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding And preserving them, for He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory)."

While not all verses in the Qur’an carry a specific name, this one was given the name 'Ayat Al-Kursi' (Kursi: literally a footstool or chair, and sometimes translated as the Throne.) The Kursi mentioned in this Verse should be distinguished from the 'Arsh (Throne) mentioned elsewhere. Muhammad (PBUH) said: "The Kursi compared to the 'Arsh is nothing but like a ring thrown out upon the open space of the desert." If the Kursi extends over the entire universe, then how much greater is the 'Arsh. It is narrated from Muhammad bin 'Abdullah and from other religious scholars that the Kursi is in front of the 'Arsh (Throne). Islamic religious belief holds that anyone who recites the verse enters the protection and security of Allah.

It's Friday, a special day usually but extra special during Ramadan. It is recommended that we send salawat in the Prophet SAAS all day and night on a Friday. Read Darood Sharif as much as possible throughout today for extra rewards insh'Allah

02/07/2014

The best way to have a successful Ramadan inshallah is to focus on the following five:

1. RECITE QURAN - the Best of Speech

"The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned,
feel a tremor in their hearts, and when His verses are recited to them,
it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely"
Surat Al-Anfal: 2

2. MAKE TAWBAH

The Prophet (sal Allah alayhi wa salam) said:
"When a slave commits a sin a black dot is dotted on his heart.
Then if that person gives up that evil deed, begs Allah to forgive him,
and repents, then his heart is cleared; but if he repeats the evil deed,
then that covering is increased untill his heart is completely covered with it.
[Tirmidhi]

3. ENGAGE IN DHIKR

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
Surat Al-Ra'd: 28

4. GIVE IN CHARITY

The Prophet (sal Allah alayhi wa salam) said:
“Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.”
[Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah]

5. FAST THE MONTH

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious)" Surat Al-Baqarah: 183

If we read salah correctly all good and well. But did you know there's a sunnah salah? It's the same salah but with extra words and actions that give you even more reward. Let's start learning the sunnah salah a little at a time inshallah.

After you perform sajda sit up long enough to seek forgiveness from Allah before you prostrate again. Say: "Rabig-fir-lee, Rabig-fir-lee". "My Lord forgive me, My Lord forgive me."

Do the Angels Wait Before Writing down a Bad Deed?

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Does the Angel on our right shoulder write down our bad deeds as soon as we commit them? I heard they write them down 6 hours later? Apparently it gives us time to repent. Can you explain with authentic references.

Answer:
I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

Yes, the angel waits before writing down the bad deed. [Sawi/Laqani, Sharh Jawharat al-Tawhid]

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Truly the Angel on the left [of a person] withholds from recording the sinful deed committed by the Muslim servant who sinned for a period six ‘hours’. If the servant regrets committing the sin and asks Allah for forgiveness, the Angel does not write down his sin. Otherwise, the angel records it as one bad deed.” [Tabarani, Mu`jam al-Kabir]

Munawi notes that the time frame could be six hours, as we know it, six moments or otherwise. [Munawi, Fayd al-Qadir]

However, even after the sin has been written down, it can be rubbed off as repentance completely wipes away the sin and its traces. [see: A Reader on Tawba (Repentance)]

And Allah alone gives success.

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Truly the Angel on the left [of a person] withholds from recording the sinful deed committed by the Muslim servant who sinned for a period six ‘hours’. If the servant regrets committing the sin and asks Allah for…

A very common mistake among Muslims is to think that the Golden Dome of Rock is Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa, but it's not the same! I've annotated this diagram to make it clear. The white building image on the right is the true Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa (technically speaking, the whole area inside the black line, the wall, is the original site of the whole Masjid)!

The Golden Dome of the Rock (Qubbat Al-Sakhra), as mentioned by Ibn Katheer, was built in year 66H by Abdulmalik ibn Marwan above the rock that he thinks that the Prophet peace be upon has ascended from (although there's no evidence that it's this particular rock) and he made it a holy shrine, where people used to travel to circle around it like the Kaa'ba, may Allah forgive them.

The Masjid Al-Aqsa however, was built 40 years after Prophet Adam -alaihi assalam- built the Kaa'ba as mentioned in Sahih Muslim, then rebuilt several times after, by Khalifah Umar may Allah be pleased with him, then after a major earthquake by the Umayyad's, then Salahudeen after the crusades, then renovated by the Ottomans and also last century, may Allah free it. The Prophet SAAS said "be cheerful".

That's it.

So we are.

Sin is usually committed when Allah is forgotten. “Satan got the better of them and caused them to forget Allah. Those are the party of satan. Truly, the party of satan are the real losers” [Quran 58:19]

Acts of worship are designed to help us remember Allah and therefore be successful. “O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed for those before you that you may become God-conscious” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:183] FOCUS ON REMEMBERING ALLAH SWT -Taqwa

Surah Ahzab: "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward." Ramadan Reminder 5: Do much dhikr each day. In Ramadan it counts for even more.

Dhikr:☝Subhanallah wa bi hamdi, subhanallah hilazeem

Translation: "Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, Allah the Greatest is free from imperfection". (This was reported in Hadith)

Light on the lips, heavy on the scales, you should repeat this phrase EVERY DAY whenever you can. This phrase is dear to Allah. On Judgement Day inshallah you will see your good side of the scales heavy due to this phrase.

Ramadan Reminder 1: This is the month of the Quran. Listen to it on headphones whilst doing manual jobs like housework and if you listen with concentration you will earn reward. Read it in Arabic and the transliteration on your own language so you understand it.

Here is a summary of each Juz in the Qur'an in English. It's best read before you go out for tarawih each night so you can reflect on the meaning of the Quran you listen to that night. It's only 36 pages in total. Http://t.co/zaGA0fVIjY
