I believe this may be one of the most slept on bottles in the market today. It’s not jack Daniels fault either. When you have a product as synonymous with as Jack Daniels has with old no.7 sometimes it’s hard to break out of that shadow. Released last year the Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof rye might be one of if not the best value in whiskey right now at a msrp of $65. My bottle coming in at a hefty 130.9 proof packs flavor that punches way above its price point. The nose presents as toasted pecans and to me a baked banana nut bread. The pallet is rich and is where the rye spice really comes through with hints of pepper and cinnamon balanced out with again brown sugar and a hint of banana. The finish then incorporates caramelized sugar and just a hint of dry oak. Do yourself a favor if you see these give them a chance don’t let the looming giant of old no.7 cause you to miss out on a truly incredible bottle of whiskey.

This bottle is so special to me not just because I helped blend what’s inside but because of what it represents. This bottle was done at J Mattingly 1845 in Frankfurt ky. It is a blend of 3 barrels of straight Kentucky bourbon blend 40 40 20 by me and my good friend Chuck Bradley. The nose is deep caramel and almost peanut brittle. The palate is a rich combination of oak vanillla cherry and just a hint of nuttiness that coats the pallete. It goes deeper than what’s in the bottle tho it’s what it represents for me. A year ago when I started this journey I had no connections except my good friends over at The Functional Gentlemen. Fast forward to now and I’ve made some lifelong friends and have gotten to have some conversations on my show with some pretty awesome people doing this and even getting to have the once in a lifetime chance to pick a barrel at buffalo trace. Thank you all for supporting me. We ain’t done yet we’re just getting started!

JT Meleck longhorn liqour single barrel. This is hands down the best single barrel I’ve had from jt Meleck so far. The nose opens up with floral and fruit notes and vanilla. The pallet has a distinct butterscotch or fresh maple syrup and waffles and brown sugar that finishes with a dark barrel char. This to me is the peak of what Meleck has done. Only thing wrong with is it is I wish there was more.
