We are countering the World Economic Forum's Great Reset with a We. The Great WeSet series is dedicated to the counter-public that has formed in many areas of social life.

In the third volume, Eugen Zentner presents alternatives in the art and culture sector.

Art and culture are seen as a corrective to social misdevelopments. Where social and state institutions fail, they must be held up to a pointed and expressive mirror. Artists and cultural workers are not just entertainers, they are commentators of the times. They are co-creators, rebels, bridge builders and peacemakers. Today's artists, however, have moved far away from this self-image, at least those who enjoy fame in the so-called mainstream. There are structural reasons for this. In this arena, only those who do not rebel, who remain loyal to government policy and who profess their allegiance to the dominant ideology, can survive. One deviation is now enough to be pushed out of the spotlight. The key word is "cancel culture".

Since the Corona policy, it has been rampant at an increasingly faster pace. This is fatal for art and culture. But there is also good news: some artists are not intimidated. They do what is expected of them. They do not adapt, they criticize the grievances and raise their voices so loudly that they resonate in public despite cancel culture.

In the last four years, a vibrant cultural scene has developed. The journalist Eugen Zentner presents it in his book. Along the areas of cabaret, music, art and literature, he shows, with sometimes concise analyses of works, which topics concern these courageous artists, which forms of expression they choose and what drives them. It is an edifying inventory, a brilliant introduction to an area of ​​extra-parliamentary opposition in which the actors pursue counter-publicity using the means of art.

The Book Author - Eugen Zentner GER
Eugen Zentner, born in 1979, studied German and philosophy in Leipzig. In 2016 he received his doctorate in literary studies in Oldenburg on the subject of autofiction. A year later he completed training as a screenwriter in Berlin.
Zentner lives in Berlin and has been working as a freelance cultural journalist since 2016. He has written for the German Press Agency, Musikexpress and Schweizer Monat, among others. During the Corona crisis he switched to the field of alternative media. His articles appear regularly on NachDenkSeiten, apolut and Transition News. Zentner also works as a news editor for the radio station Kontrafunk. In 2020 he started the blog kultur-zentner.de, on which he examines the alternative cultural scene that has emerged in the wake of the Corona crisis from different perspectives.

A little information on the side, we respect the winners that were chosen by the jury...but since there are also artists among them, who have left us with expensive awards in the past, which means now.. ..that these artists will only receive a download and no real glass award. We don't want to end up flushing money down the toilet over and over again by being stuck with awards that they wanted in the first place and then in the end did not take! I think this is a clear announcement and needs no further explaination! Gaby

We are deeply schocked to hear that our friend Donna Caroll (in the chair on the right) has passed away. It is so sad to hear this!Last time I talked to her was when she was in Wiesbaden at the military and she felt a bit lost. We had a real good conversation. I loved her as a person because she was so kind and loveley, still cannot believe it!
Rest in peace Donna, you have been an angel on earth and now you are an angel in heaven!

A little advice, maybe you wanna hear it, maybe not, but you all know, I say straight out what I think. To you artists and music-related nominees, I know you often have little time, besides performances and everything else that surrounds you, but be aware that you will be judged by how you present yourself! I was very shocked by what some people sent us, from bad to very bad pictures, to bios with 10 words, to recordings that were only a few seconds long, or in very bad shape. This is a way nobody should present them self, because if someone is looking for an artists, I guarantee you they would step away! I don't know what you're expecting, but I'll tell you straight away, our judges listen to the songs from second one to the last second! If you don't do well, you're out of luck and will be judged like you present! We also can't create awards if we receive pixilated, or blurred images from you, or if your images are so small that if I press my thumb and index finger together, the image can move right through it. We gave you information with sizes, we told you what the images should be look like and much more, but unfortunately for a few artists, none of this is being implemented! As a result, many artists have made big mistakes this year! You don't know who they are, I do, and it hurts my soul when an artist blows the chance to win a beautiful and unique award! I hope you take it to heart and deliver everything spot on next time. You're not doing it for us, you're doing it for yourself, and that way you can clearly see who's really making an effort. For the next nomination, I can tell you that we're no longer relying on your word that you send something and then don't do it. You have to upload everything and if it's not as requested, then you won't be able to upload it either. It should be fun for everyone and, honestly, in my honest opinion, I'm losing the fun in the process, because I have 4 times more work then usual and I think that is not nessasary! Gaby

Since there were a few who had reacted much too late, there will also be downloads......I put a lot of the late reactions on the list, but I do not know how they handle them!
At least we know who the winners are for 2024!
It was a real rollercoaster this year!

Apparently I have more children than I thought!!!
As I have mentioned before, we need all your data's, photos, bio and your music in MP3 or wave file! We don't have to keep chasing you around and asking and asking and asking you, to send us all your data's, because you are not alone in this world, we have so many artists worldwide, and 99% of them make the greatest effort and work hard to be successful! If you want something from us and win in a fair show, then please be fair and send us all your data's and completely please!! But now it is too late!!!!
Unfortunately, some artists don't seem to take what I say very seriously, but this time we had to take drastic action in the interests of the artists, who always deliver everything as we expect of artists! Any kind of art is not a walk in the park, it's hard work, you have to work for it! You can't expect that if you open your mouth the food will fly into your mouth, you have to do the right things and put the food into mouth with your own hands, it won't work any other way!
We don't want to run after you constantly, because why should we? Are we paid for it? No!
Do you want recognition for your music? Yes! So do something for your career and do it the right way!
So it had consequences for some artists, regarding to their music, which arrived here in MP3 file but with bad recordings, or with only a few seconds to listen to it, so the jury cannot judge these kind of things!
So there was either no male or female winner in a genre, which was then completely lost, or other artists who had sent their music in perfect condition got this coveted award!
It hurts me more then I can tell you, to see that an artist, who is really very good - DID NOT WIN, because they were either careless, or thought ....oooohhh they could steal my music and I do not get paid for it! Get out of this thought process!
If you take part in our Award Show, think carefully, if you want it, no music will be stolen here at our show! On the contrary, you will be supported and promoted here all the way and guess what?
You can win a beautiful and unique award, each award is a unique piece of art. You can win an award, that you find nowhere else and that you don't have to buy, and that was not created through friendship politics, or who pays most, but that you have honestly won through your hard work and which was judged by real worldwide jury members, who know how it works in the music business and who give honest reviews and act in the interest of the music, who listen to every song from the first till the last second of the song, and don't just click on any review number, just to get quickly through it - No, they listen to your whole song, and who are not get paid by anyone, but approach the matter neutrally, without prejudice, who put months of hard work into this important matter! Who do not accept bribes and who are not influenced by fan choice voting's, where everyone calls their whole family and friends, or everyone they know, to vote for them! Remember these people only do it because you ASK them to do it, but does it have any value? NO - it says nothing about your music, but it should be about how the music sounds and how the music is presented till the last second of the song and not how many people call to vote for you!
So if you want to join our Award Show, you should make an effort to deliver a good presentation! If you don't want that, nobody can force you, it's your career and not ours, but you have to live with the consequences, no effort - no win - no award!
We hope we got great pictures of you, that is the only thing that makes or breaks an award!

The awards would be shipped via UPS and the shipping costs must be paid by the winners, as we cannot cover these costs as well. If you don't want that, you always have the option of a free download! Gaby

One surprise after the next one, when you think you now got the winner in one genre, then someone else from another jury team scores much higher and then when you put it all together - there's a winner that wasn't even on the radar! So far the most exciting voting I have ever experienced, full of surprises!

Being busy with locating the winner of Country Ballades Original 2024, it was at least 30 minutes and remember these are only Country Ballades Female, Male and since we had a few Duets, also Duet.
Oh boy, that was a neck-to-neck race, with the smallest difference in points. Wow, especially among the men there were three of them and they were super good, separated only by commas and tiny comma numbers, a very sharp race... next to each other.
But we got the winners of 2024! Only you all have to wait until October 2024!🌷

Short update!
We are currently calculating some of the judges' completed votings and boy, there will be surprises, we are always excited to read the names that form and emerge before our eyes with multiple high scores! Of course the judging isn't finished yet and everything can still change, we know that from previous experiences, but a picture is currently forming and wow, there's talent there that we've never heard of before! It is and remains very exciting!
