The King is set to release an Amazon Prime documentary about his vision for nature.
King Charles will urge people to work with nature, rather than against it, in his first-ever streaming documentary.
Just days after Prince William's revealing conversation with Canadian actor Eugene Levy on Apple TV, his father tells of his “fondest hope” that his new film will inspire people around the globe to protect the planet when it releases on Prime Video in 2026.
A long-time campaigner on the environment, the King has turned to the streaming platform in order to reach the widest possible number of eyeballs around the world.
The new commission, called Finding Harmony: A King's Vision, chronicles the King’s personal work in this area, such as at Dumfries House in Scotland and his Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire, as well as projects he supports in places like Guyana and India.
King Charles said: "For much of my life, I have sought to promote and encourage ways we can work with, rather than against nature.
"In other words, to restore balance to our planet, which is under such stress."
He urged everyone who lives on planet Earth to consider themselves “a part of nature” and realise how the natural world sustains our lives, as humans.
"Never has it been more important for the world to make a concerted effort to protect and prioritise our planet, and to restore our relationship with it," the monarch added.
The announcement comes ahead of the latest UN climate conference COP30, which this year is being held in the Brazilian city of Belem, considered the gateway to the Amazon.
The King is not attending because, as a monarch who sits above politics, it is much more difficult now for him to get involved in the political discussions between governments.
However, by granting access to a documentary crew, King Charles said it was his "fondest hope that this film may encourage a new audience to learn about the philosophy of Harmony".
Harmony was the title of a book he co-wrote with the environmentalist Tony Juniper and is widely considered to be the most comprehensive understanding of the King’s vision of the world.
In it he warned about the modern world’s disconnect with nature and the impact it is going to have on us all.
Dumfries House, which the King’s Foundation - one of his charities - purchased in 2005, is now considered to have been transformed into a “living demonstration” of the King’s sustainable principles.
It appears the King has not given Apple TV an interview, in the strictest definition of the word, but the programmes will include his own “reflections” on protecting the planet and creating a more sustainable world.
He hopes the series will show how Mother Nature can inspire others to have "the same sense of determination it has given me to help build a more sustainable future”.
Even the director of the Amazon show acknowledges that "remarkably few people around the world know the full depth of the King’s lifelong battle to bring nature and humanity into harmony”.
A new photograph of King Charles, taken in the arboretum of his Highgrove estate during the filming of Harmony, has been released to accompany the announcement that the show will debut in the new year.
