We are aware of a fire burning in the Big Lake area, approximately 10km’s from the 108 Mile Ranch. Smoke from this fire will be very visible from the 108 area today as temperatures start to rise. There is no current danger, partially due to the large burned area (2017 wildfire) west of 108 Mile Ranch.

I've been watching the strikes come in. Now confirmed what I heard. Fire the north end of Horse Lake. All the best to the responders.
***PLEASE NOTE***
If the water skimmers arrive. Please leave the area wth your boats. They cannot make a proper effort if you are in the way. You become unpopular very quickly lol. Seriously Thankyou. Firefighting etiquette.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Cariboo North (Quesnel) and Cariboo South (Williams Lake). The details from Environment Canada below. Dale.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and torrential rain.

Very large hail can damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
