Death of pride
In the heart where shadows stride,
Where vanity and ego reside,
There's a tale of a battle cried,
A relentless quest, Death to Pride.
With eyes beholden from conceit,
Where hearts forgot to be discreet,
It's in this place, where souls deplete,
That the war of virtues shall retreat.
Proud arrogance, the whispered sin,
A poison that consumes within,
Yet, a hubris tighter than kin,
Unaware of the weakening din.
Beneath the mask, a fragile soul,
Searching for solace, to be whole,
Yet, Pride's embrace takes full control,
Leads astray to a darkened knoll.
But in the shadows, a truth unfolds,
A rebellion against what Pride beholds,
An uprising of souls, daring and bold,
To sever the chains that Pride enrolls.
Onward they march, the army of light,
With humility as their guiding might,
They shed their shackles and take to flight,
In their quest, to restore what's right.
For when Pride reigns, compassion wanes,
Kindness falters, and heartblood drains,
But when humility reigns supreme,
Empathy flows like a tranquil stream.
The battle waged, fierce within,
Vanity's empire, destined to dim,
The warriors fought, refusing to give in,
For the greater cause, they'd surely win.
In the final clash, a thunderous sound,
As Pride crumbled, falling to the ground,
A world reborn, with new hope found,
Where empathy takes its steadfast mound.
Oh, Death to Pride, a victory proclaimed,
A testament to humility untamed,
May this battle be forever named,
In the annals of virtues, highly acclaimed.
