An ad dating back to 1885 advertised its “instantaneous cure” for toothache, using co***ne.

For some reason, the advertisement depicted kids playing in the yard.

Co***ne was once used a local anesthetic. It was sold in the form of tonics and drops in the 1800s and continued to be sold until the early 20th century.
Dentists saw its potential and used it for painless extractions. Rubbing co***ne on the gums was a popular remedy for swollen and painful gums.
It's long-term users experienced several serious side-effects and co***ne was finally banned in the USA in 1920 under the dangerous drugs act.

The idea of fizzy drinks being healthful seems unthinkable. But that's precisely what 7UP presented about sixty years ago.

'Nothing does it like 7 Up' was one of the brand's more memorable campaigns.
A baby drinking the green 7 Up glass bottle popping while everything else is black-and-white is a smart way to brag about young consumer base.

Back then, and even today, soft drink brands want consumers to start consuming early.

(If you read the copy, you'll even find that 7 Up suggested mixing it with milk. Gross!)

As simple as it may sound, Performance marketing has been trending because of the value it offers to brands. The online advertising industry continues to grow and performance marketing is entirely ROI focused and measurable method. Who doesn't want that?

Advertisers pay for performance, while affiliates (who are paid to deliver a specific action) promote the advertiser through various channels for example, email, display, PPC, social media, etc. Networks sit between the two sides, providing value in the form of tracking and technology, media planning, client support, and compliance.

Introducing TMP Gyaan series!
Let's understand marketing in it's purest and simplest form by relating it to real life scenarios.

To begin with, have a look at Nudge Marketing.
This method was born from behavioral economics.
In order to influence what consumers choose, nudge marketing deliberately manipulates how choices are presented to them.

Hotel booking websites often show how quickly the rooms are being booked which is their way of nudging.
