MAPPA announced on April 19, 2024 JST, that production of YURI!!! on ICE the Movie: ICE ADOLESCENCE has been cancelled "due to various circumstances". The beleaguered movie was initially announced in July 2018 following the wildly successful 2016 TV anime series, with an expected release in 2019. In September 2019, the official website announced that the release has been delayed "in order to substantially scale up the content more than originally planned". The most recent update prior to today came in November 2020, when MAPPA confirmed that production was still in progress with no known release date.

At PAX East 2024, Naoki Yoshida (Producer), Takeo Kujiraoka (DLC Director), and Michael-Christopher Koji Fox (Localization Director) announced the release date of the new Final Fantasy XVI Paid DLC "The Rising Tide", available for download on April 18th. From the Final Fantasy XVI panel, DLC Director Kujiraoka stated that: "An unmarked letter arrives at the hideaway containing a most curious request: the Dominant of Leviathan, the long-lost Eikon of Water, needs rescue....

At the 96th annual Academy Awards, both "Godzilla Minus One" and "The Boy and the Heron" picked up Oscars, with "Godzilla Minus One" winning for Visual Effects, and "The Boy and the Heron" winning for Best Animated Feature. This is the first win for the "Godzilla Minus One" crew, including Takashi Yamazaki, Kiyoko Shibuya, Masaki Takahashi and Tatsuji Nojima. Meanwhile, "The Boy and the Heron" represents Studio Ghibli's 2nd Oscars victory, with Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki's first being 2002's "Spirited Away."

Kadokawa has announced that they will be hosting short panels featuring their properties at AnimeJapan 2024, at the Kadokawa Live Station booth within their bloc on March 23 and 24. This is in addition to their biggest titles featured on the general AnimeJapan RBG stage. Sakura-Con announced on February 16, 2024, that voice actresses Chiemi Tanaka and Coco Hayashi will be guests at their annual convention, to take place on March 29-31, 2024. Both guests will primarily be featured for their roles as Rina Tennoji and Setsuna Yuki, respectively, from Love Live!
