Reed High School recently honored alum and sports superstar Gabby Williams with a large mural outside of the school. Gabby Williams graduated from Reed in 2013 and went on to play on championship basketball teams in college at UConn (she now plays on the Seattle Storm in the WNBA) and won a bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The City of Sparks has received $1.5 million for rental assistance for elderly residents, people with disabilities and families and individuals facing unexpected emergencies. The money, which came from a bill passed by the Nevada Legislature, is for the current fiscal year, with an additional $1.5 million in rental assistance expected for the next fiscal year. The City has developed two programs for those facing hardships: the Eviction Prevention Rental Assistance Program and the Senior Short-Term Rental Assistance Program....
