After The Funeral contains old songs recorded anew, keeping the old-school wave, atmosphere and aura intact as an homage to PARRICIDE’s original members and the good old times - the 90s. A quality studio was a distant dream then, so these songs never had a chance to sound decent. Thus came the idea to re-record them and see if they stand the test of time. The release contains two tracks from each tape and the entirety of the debut album. Special thanks go to Stoker, Bruno, Michał, Tadek and Hubert for their help in completing this significant project. Without their effort and their hearts this material couldn’t have been made. Once again big thanks, lads.

PARRICIDE was formed in 1990 to play death metal and performed live for the first time the same year. In 1990 the band recorded and released the critically acclaimed Rehearsal Tape’92. In 1997 after line-up changes PARRICIDE started to evolve into brutal death metal direction incorporating classic grind core elements a few years later. As a result played numerous gigs, festivals and tours. PARRICIDE was laid to rest in 2015 soon after releasing its 6th full length album.

TROCAR has shared the lyric video for the song Perverse Incentives off their latest album Extremities. The track is an example of sebum-greased, tooth-grinding, intense cybergrind/goregrind at its finest.

TROCAR began in 2021 as a collaborative project between Fluids mastermind Jan Grotle and radio host Schuler Benson. While the initial objective was to combine choice chunks of Regurgitate's Sickening Bliss and Nailbomb's Point Blank, Trocar quickly became a more eclectic endeavor, pulling from grind, d-beat, industrial metal, and harsh noise. Rounded out by Fluids producer Walter Hale, the band released their demo Four Forfeit Digits in 2022 on Scum Lord Distro, followed by the debut single Wonders Cease, a six-plus minute collision of grindcore intensity, somber melody and haunting electronic overtones that drew comparisons to Exhumed, Cattle Decapitation, and Godflesh. Trocar forged ahead with two new releases in 2023: White Room Torture (Night Shift Merch), a split with Detroit death metal iconoclasts Jesus Wept and Piecemeal (Re**al Purulence), a punk-tinged two-song EP. Trocar recently completed their debut album Extremities, a sonic specimen bag of sebum-greased, tooth-grinding, nail-shredding confessions, apologies and indictments. Extremities features guest performances by Frank Albanese (Hath), Greg Nottis (Hath), Jamie Stewart (The Absence, Hot Graves) and filmmaker Ryan Twyford-Rigley.

Extremities has been released on April 5th 2024 via Selfmadegod Records.

New York City-based death metal quintet HYPOXIA – formed by members of Monstrosity, Vile, Secrecy, Castrator, Total Fu***ng Destruction, and more – returns with their third album, Defiance.

HYPOXIA is well known for their energetic and aggressive live shows. They have played many festivals and shows all over the country and South America including Soul Metalfest, Las Vegas Deathfest and Rock Al Parque 2018, sharing the stage with bands such as Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Dark Tranquility, Dark Funeral, Diabolic, Obituary, Onslaught, Razor, Masacre, Embalmer, Exumer, Malevolent Creation, Derketa, and many more along the way.

Though Gnaw Their Tongues has hardly been quiet in the interim, what with recent collaborations with Alkerdeel, the release of the Collected Atrocities collection and recent high-profile performances in the US at Maryland Deathfest XIII and Apex VI, it's been a good three years since the last full-length album from this Dutch nightmare machine. But with new album Abyss Of Longing Throats, Gnaw Their Tongues has returned in full ravenous glory, offering another hellish cacophony of mangled industrial black metal, lurching deformed heaviness, twisted electronic carnage and bombastic orchestral power that sounds like no one else. From the frenzied black swarms that sweep across the doom-laden death industrial of opener "Lick The Poison From The Cave Walls" that eventually resolves into a glacial haze of bleary, blasted bliss, to the hallucinatory black metal of "Through Flesh" that fuses staccato violins, terrifying choral singing and grueling mechanical doom to one of the most emotionally stirring sequences yet heard in the band's catalog, Abyss continues to chart the evolution of Gnaw Their Tongues' sound. There's plenty of the grueling industrialized heaviness and violent orchestral sounds the band is known for, but this new material also expands upon the filthy blackened doom at the heart of Gnaw Their Tongues' music with those moments of striking melodic power, moments where all the horror surging through these songs suddenly transforms into something hauntingly elegiac. Brief passages of tragic beauty, scattered throughout an abyss roiling with relentless programmed blastbeats, somber chamber strings hovering mournfully amid tortured shrieks, harsh clanking percussion and blasts of raging orchestral chaos, all writhing together into another exhilarating descent into total demonic delirium from this monstrous outfit.

Ehnahre - Old Earth CD (digipak)

The third album from the avant-death/doom ensemble Ehnahre and the follow up to the critically acclaimed 2010 album 'Taming The Cannibals' on Crucial Blast, 'Old Earth' again finds the trio of Ricardo Donoso, John Carchia and Ryan McGuire (the latter two former members of avant-prog rockers Kayo Dot) exploring their unique fusion of hellish death-doom, blackened prog, avant-jazz and experimental modern music composition, to earth-scorching result. It begins with distant rustling sounds creep out of a dank underground space, as the dusty warbling strains of an old 78 rpm record drift through, introducing 'Old Earth' with an eerie haze of slightly corroded, somewhat hallucinatory sound. As a terrifying chorus of operatic female howls suddenly waft out of cracks in the floor, the guitars finally appear, all alone and slowly weaving an ominous dissonant melody that takes over the piece as the listener is propelled further into Ehnahre's twisted soundscape. It's not long before the band tumbles into their trademark atonal death-doom, that spidery fractured guitar suddenly swelling into a monstrous clanging anti-riff while withered, ragged screams and bizarre mewling join in, and the rhythm section erupts into brief blasts of chaotic slow-motion heaviness and free-jazz inspired drumming. If anything, Ehnahre's sound becomes even more abstract here, the warped noisy death metal (which often resembles a cross between Disembowelment and Obscura-era Gorguts) folding in on itself and mutating into crushing, droning riffage before it trails off into the intensely creepy second act. Here, the double-bass, keyboards and delicate percussion take over, joined by the gorgeous and ghostly trumpets of guest musicians Greg Kelley (Heathen Shame) and Forbes Graham (Kayo Dot), offering up one of Ehnahre's most spellbinding moments as the band ventures into an utterly creepy world of twilight avant-jazz fusion and shadowy atmospherics. The following chapter winds back into the bone-crushing deathdoom, another monstrous wave of lurching heaviness and dissonant skronk, spilling over into the final passage, bludgeoning jagged death metal riffs welded to a lurching, lopsided dirge, the final moments collapsing in dramatic fashion as the band decomposes back into the hallucinatory wash of sounds that began the album... As terrifying as it is haunting, 'Old Earth' is another intensely challenging and completely unique offering from Ehnahre, who still sound like nothing else in the metal/avant underground. It has some of the most bleakly beautiful, burnt-out moments the band has brought us so far, and those jazz-influenced passages in the middle of the album are pretty goddamn stunning. Might be difficult listening for some, but Ehnahre's otherworldly heaviness is immensely rewarding for the adventurous listener. The Cd edition of 'Old Earth' comes in a full color digipack.

Exhumed / HEMDALE - Split LP / CD

Released in 1996, during an era where death metal was supposedly “dead,” In the Name of Gore brought together two of that era’s sickest bands, HEMDALE and EXHUMED, for a 24-track / 53-minute o**y of viscera and depravity. At the time, HEMDALE were well on their way to being one of the cultest bands in the metal underground: gory, gnarly, and utterly uncompromising, it was perhaps fate – or, rather, their recordings being too foul & filthy – that they only ever released EPs and splits during their original run in the 1990s (and even when they re-formed in 2013). However, their contribution to In the Name of Gore was an all-too-generous 13 tracks, still HEMDALE’s longest recorded entry anywhere – and it still stands tall as some of the sickest (and nearly blackened) goregrind around, ignorant and untouchable in its primitive grind & gallop schematic. Back then, EXHUMED were grade-A early-Carcass worship, still a couple years away from their classic Gore Metal debut album. Although they’ve continued on with a respectable and prolific canon of work that endures to this day, the rough & ramshackle era of ‘90s EXHUMED hits the hardest – or, rather, touches upon a nostalgia of a simpler time for those involved in the scene back then – and their 11 tracks here encapsulate that sensation with no small amount of poignancy.

Originally only available on CD via HEMDALE’s long-dormant Visceral Productions, HELLS HEADBANGERS resurrects In the Name of Gore rises from the grave (or garbage dump?) to assault good taste once again, and now also on vinyl for the first time ever.
