Heading out to the lake this weekend? Don’t forget your clubs 🏌️‍♂️

Located on the northwest side of Gull Lake you’ll find a wonderful golf experience for the whole family at the Gull Lake Golf Course.

With great views of the lake, this nine hole par-27 course features holes that range from 120 to 213 yards in length. Gull Lakes small greens are undulating and will challenge more experienced golfers while beginner golfers will enjoy the shorter holes and the ability to learn golf in a relaxed, family atmosphere.

Just look at all these shades of blue 💙 On another note, River Bend is in awesome shape and is playing great. Be sure to get in a round before the end of the year as it will be awhile before you can play it again. The scheduled remodeling/upgrades are a go, and will mean the course will be closed next season.

Even though the weather forecast doesn't look great for this weekend, remember what they say about Alberta weather...If you dont like it, just wait 5 minutes, and it'll change 😉

For Mandatory Golf Friday, enjoy some of our shots 📷 from our round out at Wolf Creek last week. The Old Course was in great shape and the colours were popping 🐺 😍 The contrast between the fescue rough and lush green fairways and greens was simply stunning.

If you're looking for somewhere new to play, may we suggest the Olds Golf Club. Last week when we played the course it was in great condition, and the greens were some of the quickest and truest we have played this season. The course is also a certified Audubon facility.

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf is an award winning education and certification program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf. By helping people enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, and minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf course operations, the program serves an important environmental role worldwide.

Easy to get to, friendly small town feel, and a well-conditioned fun layout, welcome to the Lacombe Golf & Country Club (open for public play).

Even though the course plays 6375 yards from the back tee, it can test even the most experienced players with tree-lined fairways, and small mostly raised, quick undulating greens. This par 71 course also has a unique routing with back-to-back par-3’s on both the front and back 9.

When you are playing amongst the large spruce and poplar trees, you feel like you're the only one out on the course. Spirit Creek features 18 fun, challenging holes in the scenic Blindman River Valley and is carved out of a forest that protects you from strong winds and is home to an abundance of wildlife.

The Red Deer River wraps itself around the 420 acres of forested parkland on which the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area sits. This 18-hole course has a mix of more open (but guarded by ponds) parkland holes and tree-lined holes and can currently play anywhere from 5325-6664 yards in length. A future renovation/update is drawn up and scheduled for next year, which will add many new tee-boxes, allowing the course to play 4057-6801 yards.

Quick, well manicured greens along with a mix of parkland and rolling links-style holes makes Ponoka Golf Club a fun course you don't want to miss if you’re in the area.

"The beautiful challenge." ⛳️ That is the quote inside the scorecard at Pheasantback, and we'd have to agree with that statement. We played Pheasantback for the first time in a number of years and were very impressed. You can tell there has been a significant investment put into the course lately. The course was in great condition, with nice fairways, greens that rolled true, and they even have newer electric carts with GPS (which came in very handy as we navigated our way around the course). If you haven't been out to Pheasantback in a while, it is worth the trip to go play at least once this summer.

Located just minutes off the QEII in Olds, you'll find the beautiful Olds Golf Club. Even though the scorecard says the course plays to a maximum length of 6881 yards, there is more than enough challenge to test even the most experienced golfers. While the wide fairways and layout are ideal for those just starting out. Much of the challenge can be found in the large, undulating, and quick greens. On the day we played, the greens were also quite firm, which added to the challenge.

Is this even real?! Places like Kananaskis Country Golf Course are just amazing! We are so fortunate to have courses like this just a few hours away from home 🏡

We managed to avoid the rain, and the large trees lining most of the fairways sheltered us from the wind, making for an enjoyable afternoon out on the links ⛳️
