BUT we both know you know your industry very well.

So here are a few things that might be going wrong:
- Using industry lingo: Use simple language everyone can understand.
- Use a short and simple hook: Best not to overwhelm them immediately.
- You’re not talking about the topics your audience want to hear about: Sometimes you want to talk about what happened to you today at the mall. That’s okay. But don’t expect it to generate 1000 likes.

Once that is set up, you will create content that will feed right into your sales funnel.

You will also know what KPIs to track.

Boosting a LinkedIn post is like pouring your milk before your cereal

It just doesn’t make sense.

- You don’t know how much milk you need.
- There’s no clear end goal.
- It’s a sign you’re in the wrong headspace.

Instead, consider your business goal.

Visibility?
Leads?
Video views?

Identify your target audience.

Determine a daily budget you want to spend to reach this audience.

This can easily be done with LinkedIn Ads.

- You can build the strategy directly on the platform.
- Testing different visuals in the ad is so much easier.

Just stop boosting random posts.

P.S. Do not boost Facebook or Instagram posts either.

I told him to post on TikTok.

I showed him how to film the videos, what to say, and what to write in the captions.

Marketing Bound then edited the videos.

Everybody is trying to get likes for the wrong reasons.

Your business needs exposure.
Then, you need to build trust with your audience.

THEN, you need to get your audience OFF the platform.

(audible gasp)

This is for high-ticket offers.

Social media gets you exposure.
It helps you build trust.
It even simplifies talking to your target audience.

But to close a deal, you need a sales process in place.
You need to reach out to qualify the person and close the deal.

Social media is part of your sales process.
Most people just don’t realize it.

Now:
- Present a more personalized experience with unique content output.
- Content that starts conversations.
- Understanding the audiences and trends on different platforms.

It means having a specific criteria for your guests and building a vetting process that only lets high quality guests on your show.

Finally, if you’re not proud of an episode. You don’t need to post it. You can repurpose it but you don’t need to post it. Read the slides for when I didn’t publish an episode 😳

Should you start a YouTube Channel or a Podcast?

I know there's no stopping you from doing both but for your business, which one is the best to start with?

In this slide deck, I review some facts you should know before deciding:

1. There are over 1 billion YouTube channels vs 1 million active podcasts
2. 75% of people tune in to a podcast to learn vs YouTube is usually more for entertainment
3. YouTube channels require at least a camera to record videos. Podcasts require a microphone.
4. Searchability is much better on YouTube. It's harder to grow your podcast organically.

Ask yourself:
What content do you want to make?
Where is your audience?
What are your resources?

Picture this. You open the recording app on your phone and start talking about your day. You take that and create a podcast. You're officially a podcaster! Amazing.

You don't need fancy equipment to be a podcast host. But you need practice!

The difference between any podcaster and a great podcaster is one that is constantly improving their skills. A great host is constantly trying to extract higher quality content for their audience. A great host is constantly trying to ask better questions.

Never stop improving your skills.
